Youtube channel question

Does the pagerank of you youtube channel affect video rankings. I have A PR 5 Youtube channel with 40+ videos and A lot of videos that rank well for their keywords. But for my newer uploads I have been uploading to A new channel just in case my channel gets deleted for copyrights. And my video's arent't ranking as well as I thought. Is because my channel is new and doesn't carry the same amount of authority?
