Youtube channel and big competition is it worth?

I have a youtube channel and I have big problem when i trying to get better position in search results. My channel is legit. My competitor have 100k subscribers and i have only 8... I want my channel to grow. I tried to add 10k views and 100 likes but i get only 7 page in search results. He have something about 100k views on any of his videos and he have more than 200 videos. When I added 10k views i get only 3k natural views and 3 subscribers. Is it worth to countinue or better find another niche?

I was thinking about youtube ads too but I have only 300$ to start promoting and I don't know that is worth even to start with this small amount.

Start promoting on relevant forums within your target niche market.
