Here is some of the latest news coming out of VidCon. The changes I'm most excited about are the new analytics that will be coming (don't know a date yet). Some of the new things we'll be able to run reports on are:
-audience retention rate based on source of traffic - I'm very excited for this because now we'll be able to see how much (time) of our videos are being watched from all that traffic we acquire from various sources. All youtube traffic sellers out there will have to step their game up and make sure they're supplying longer video views since the YouTube algorythm is now so influenced by length of views.
-Annotation Reporting - we'll now be able to see which of our video annotations are being clicked and which are not.
-More Detailed Mobile Reporting - finally, we'll have more information about where mobile views are coming from, which mobile devices are being used, are they clicking on our annotations.
Some of the other reported changes coming are:
-more homepage changes...again!
-custom thumbnails...for everybody with monetized videos?
-creating bulk annotations - if you use similar annotations from video to video this should come in handy.
-merging of Video and Feed tabs on channel page
-new channel page templates
-Store tab on channel page (many already have it) not sure how they are deciding who gets it in any specific order
