YouTube Automator improvements

This thread is mainly for Nova, creator (I believe) of YouTube Automator. First let me say good work Nova, I like this tool - and am just wanting to help by giving some feedback. Anyone else feel free to throw in your own improvements. I'm not really talking about extra features, and not bug fixes, but more usability type improvements.

1) When you hit the minimize button, I'd like it to minimize to the tray. Right now it just minimizes to a really small box that is still on the desktop.

2) It is unclear whether a catch-all domain is required or not. Just add a line of text clarifying this. Also I have some catchall domains that I am 100% work great, but were not verified correctly when I clicked "test catchall".

3) When you scrape comments, there is a button to copy the comments to the clipboard. Two problems here...each comment had a whitespace character inserted before the comment (not sure if that is by design or not) so when I pasted to a text file, each line begins with a space. Second, instead of the "copy to clipboard" button why not a "save to file" button?

4) When you are creating accounts, and hit the "verify" button - the number of unverified accounts does not change, when it should be going down as your accounts get verified. Ex: 100 unverified accounts should become 0 unverified accounts after they are all verified. Right now that number does not change.

5) On the main screen when you begin commenting/rating a youtube URL - it would be nice to see how many comments have been sent.

6) It is unclear if the commenting/rating process will continuously cycle through your accounts file, or whether it will only cycle through once. First, clarify this - then allow an option to either continuously cycle through, only cycle once, or stop once X amount of comments are done.

7) When scraping comments, add an option to replace any occurrences of the video's username with the $$name$$.

8) When scraping comments and doing a few other things, I get an error box popping up saying something about an invalid index or something like that. This is the only real "bug" I have found so far.

9) Also, what are the "delete pending" and "load pending" buttons for on the create account screen? They don't seem to do anything.

Ok, once again Nova good work this is the best youtube tool I've found - hopefully you can implement these changes and make it even better!

Yes i agree with your comments, having used this software. I feel that the main issue is that the software dosen't give your video actual views. Like say you post 200 comments in a day. You only get 100 views. You tube think,'erm, summink fishy ere', as red flags begin flashing. Your account gets banned. And so does your videos what you posted, so you can't upload them, as everytime you try to upload them you get the same message, 'this violates our terms of service'. So you make new videos. You will spend more time making videos and new accounts than doing anything actually productive. My suggestions (for what they are worth are below).

1. Like youtube genius, why not make the software so the accounts that you create actually view your video? So you get more views, and is dosen't look as stupid to you tube, ie, how can that account comment on a video that they haven't watched??
2. Make the random comment time longer, ie 20 minutes instead of 10.
3. Put in some sort of username creation option, so you don't have to go around copying and pasting usernames. Tthe ones that this creates will get flagged very quick, because they do not look real.
4. Some sort of automatic captcha recognition software would be nice. Xrumer 4 can do it (which i have) so why cannot tthis?

I realise that if these changes were made, that the price would have to go up, but so what?? If it did all this, it would be worth 3 times as much, and you would get your money back in no time.

Think i'll have a brew now. Me heads throbbing.

I just thought of another feature that would be REALLY cool...

When you are getting ready to start the commenting/rating of your video URL, add two fields:

One field for comments, and one field for ratings, and it would let you put in a percentage (like 50, or 75, etc) - and then when each account is about to leave a rating and/or comment, it has an X percentage chance to actually do the comment and/or rating.

Ex:

I choose 50% chance of leaving a comment, and 75% chance of leaving a rating. This way you'll have some users who leave JUST a comment and no rating, some users who leave JUST a rating and no comment, and some users who leave BOTH...this would look a lot more natural I think.

id love to beta test too i have alot of ideas also.

I agree with many of the state suggestions, but there is also a view more that I think should be out there.

1) While you are commenting/rating there should be an option that auto deletes Dead Accounts so you don't waste your time while the program cycles through all the accounts for no reason. It should also add the www. for the youtube link in case someone forgets

2) Have a "View Increaser"

3) Program should be able to update user files without overwriting it that way you can have all your accounts under one .txt file rather then making multiple .txt files and recopying all the information under one.

4) When comments are being scraped, often characters are placed with Question Marks (?) this lowers the legitimacy of some of the posts in the way. Although it's not too crucial, if there is a way to stop that character error from showing up it would help.

5) As lschmidt said, something that shows you how many comments you send, except I would enjoy for it to show the successful ratings it sent as well.

6) Add a "Clear" button for the Accounts Pending Verification so the accounts that won't verify just won't be there all day and having you to clear it manually.

Those are just some suggestions, don't wanna see like I'm nick-picking because I am satisfied with the software, those options would just make it better though.

7) Sometimes I just want to rate my videos without commenting, and the bot won't let you, and if you choose a blank comment file, it also will give you an error so just to fix this problem I have to put in a fake .txt file just so I can rate. Not really a biggie, but just an improvement like all my other requests.

8) When you are commenting/rating your videos maybe you can have a Video "Que" where you can have like a list of videos that you want your accounts to hop on after they finish commenting/rating a previous video.

yea que function and ocr would rock

OCR would be very challenging and expensive to code so I'm not looking for that, but the Video Que, or at least allow multiple instances of the program to load so you could do it yourself, would defiantly save hours of monitoring.
