    hey there,
it's been a long time since i've been coming to this website and god knows how much your pieces of advice are precious and helpful, that being said, this is actually my first post in this forum.

So i've started recently a new youtube channel and uploaded 2 videos (just to test a new niche), i was getting few views for the first two monthes (from none to few per day), after changing some details in the description and customizing my thumbnails my views climbed to 50-60 views per 48 hours constantly (and still going up) , my total number of views is now 1890 views with an estimated earnings of 0.57$. So my question is the following one :

are my earnings really low ?
because i've always believed the 1$/1000 views myth knowing that my target is france, belgium and canada (95% of my views are mainly from france, the rest is from belgium, canada and switzerland)

i would like to thank you guys in advance for your help (and sorry for my bad english).

    Cordially,

From your Video Manager, go to Analytics -> Ad Rates. You will get your average CPM for the last 28 days. Depending on several factors, you can get a higher or lower dollar value per 1000 views.

You must remember as well that you've entered on a VERY crowded pool than what Youtube was many years ago. Therefore, not only do you have to deal with your competitors who have established themselves at a much earlier time, but also against Youtube's broken system, which makes your videos virtually invisible to the public.

So aside from making good videos that's worth a person's time to watch, promoting it also plays a key. I personally struggle with that in getting people to notice my channel other than putting it to the usual channels (Facebook, Tumblr, etc). However method gets people to notice your videos is always a good thing.

Those are low - average earnings for the amount of views you're getting. You need to be marketing your youtube videos and engaging in you viewers conversations. Your channel either needs to be heavily focused and updated within a large niche or needs to have a niche that has many sub-categories that you can make videos about.

thanks for the tips, i'm planning to upload videos more often and by then, i'll start considering promoting them.
i've just checked the CPM for the last 28 days, and it's at 20.03$* which is quite high but among all the views i've got, only 17 were monetized (maybe because of ADblock ? )

thanks for your advice, i'm targeting a specific niche with low competitors (at least in france) and a decent monthly views. Like you said, i should promote my videos (right now, i'm just promoting them through google+) , and see where it goes.
thanks a bunch for your advice.
