YouTube Algorithm Changes: Why Are Big Channels Losing Visibility?

Hello, I have a YouTube channel with 900k subscribers, and I've been creating videos on the platform for 7 years. I have a few questions because the changing algorithms and increased competition have been quite confusing.

About 10 months ago, I started a new series where I raced superheroes in a 3D parkour environment I created. I found a popular title and used it for these videos. The first 30-40 videos got between 5k and 20k views, and many people subscribed. I also went live with these videos, and they were actively watched by many viewers. YouTube was featuring my content in recommended videos. But around four months ago, my views suddenly dropped drastically, from around 50k per day to just 2k. I noticed that both my videos and live streams were no longer appearing in recommendations.

I also found similar channels with better quality videos that received 200k-300k views per video. I improved my own content, adding unique touches, and some of my videos turned out better than theirs. However, I still couldn't achieve similar view counts; my videos would only get around 2k views. Despite having a large channel, I couldn't compete. I even tried Google Ads, spending $50-$60 per video to boost their reach, but it didn’t help—views would drop as soon as the ads ended.

Can you tell me what's wrong with my channel? Neither my live streams nor regular videos are being recommended like before. My analytics show decent click-through rates and watch times, similar to my older popular videos. I haven't earned anything for the past few months, hoping things would improve, but they haven't. Please help me understand what’s going on. I spend 12 hours a day, four days per video, working on this content.

Yes, I'm aware of what you mentioned. I’m already trying to do these as much as I can.

Your channel is experiencing what we call a "shadowban". when we talk about shadowbans some people often think it only relates to zero views or impressions, but according to how most people describe it, it also includes a sharp decline in views of about 80 to 90%.
in your case you are experiencing a sharp decline and no matter what you do, it may stay that way for a long time until the algorithm decides to give you more views again. (in some cases you don't recover despite trying for years)

The only way around this problem is to work with new channels.

New channel on a new email or a new channel on the same email is safe?

Mine is another channel on the same email with a channel that was banned. The new channel I had it already but was not using it, so when the channel I was growing got banned, I started using the old channel I was not using.

Just after a month, I was getting 1,200 views daily. But within 3-5 days it went down to 350 daily views and have stayed there for about 10 days or more.

BUT I DID NOTHING WRONG. No warning, no strike on this new channel.

I have other channels in the same email which I haven't used. Can I use them to post other videos or I should create new channels with a different email?

I’m not sure if I might be 'shadowbanned,' but it’s possible. I’ve noticed the algorithm seems to promote new channels, and it might be intentionally reducing views for larger channels. Over time, my views might rise again. It doesn’t make sense to throw away seven years of hard work and start a new channel, especially since I have respect for my subscribers and those who support me. If you have any suggestions or solutions to help my channel recover quickly, I’d really appreciate it. Thank you.

it doesn't make sense to us for sure, but if you're limited for a long time or permanently, you will just lose the rest of your time constantly doing work and not getting any results.

I've seen several channels that are dead this way. the owners of these channels often waste a lot of their time working on it, getting no results, until they eventually realize and give up, and then start working on fresh channels.

that's when they actually start getting results.
 
This is not unusual. When channel is new, youtube promotes it. After that, you have to work on own twists and tricks to suatain the views and growth.
 
They're gradually changing it to make it more like TikTok.

What you need to do is see what is trending now, and by that it means what kind of thumbnail designs are getting more views, what kind of editing style hooks the viewers and definitely what are the most trending or Interesting topics going on around, if you think that you are doing everything right and still not getting views then as the other member mentioned , your channel is in a shadow ban, wait for 3-5 months and then start uploading again and see if there is a difference.

In the meanwhile while start a new channel and start working on that.

Suggestion- you can also try to boost your channel by using good smm services, there are reliable and good smm panels in the marketplace here in bhw. Check them out.

Mix a couple of views with likes and shares

Thank you for your suggestion, unfortunately, I have tried many things. I researched trending videos, found them, worked on it for weeks, and even ran ads, but it still didn't work. Buying views, comments, etc., for a channel with 900K subscribers would be risky for the channel, and I think it would push me further back in the algorithm.
Additionally, if I start a new channel, it will still be linked to the same AdSense account, and YouTube will realize that the channel belongs to me. Maybe I’ll face the same issues on that channel as well.
