Youtube Algorithm 2021

Over the last years Youtube used to recommend my videos often. But lately I see the algorithm is taking in weird directions. Apart of basic rules: great title, keyword description, tags, hashtags in description, remarkable thumbail etc the most valuble method for me was being recommended from old videos.
I used to upload some great ideas and after 4 months the video was being way more recommended. That video was getting to a million views and then my other new videos were recommended.

But right now I get an old video viral to 1 million views. My newest videos on the same niche gets only 50k views if i am lucky, then the next one goes lower to 30k, then next to 10k, then it goes to 1k views. And it keeps repeating if I go viral again.

What are your metodhs of going viral to YouTube Algorithm 2021?

Try to get good keywords to enhance your search engine and give praise back to your vide. If you have some amount you can invest in getting a website or blogspot to blog or write article sometimes to direct traffic to your emblem videos.
Sometimes you might get videos thats eye catchy to promote on social networks.My Cent
 
Same thing really as the previous years. Just having good CTR and retention. All channels will die sadly. It's inevitable. If fans start losing interest so will the algorithm. It's explained by speedyallan77 somewhere in a recent thread (can't find it in his profile).

Not really. You can find abandoned channels that still have some of these videos that have tons of views and keep getting recommended till this day somehow.

I'm talking about newer videos not old videos. If new videos have terrible CTR and retention from subs, it's likely that video will never blow up.
 
Their AI is messed up at the moment. I know I know Barto stop. No this isn't about Google. It's real, Youtube is suggesting me all sorts of wrong videos. Until a while ago they nailed the suggestions spot on. So something's changing in the algorithm and I don't think it's improving.

Again I think this might be related with the habit changes during the pandemic.

Both their organic search and Youtube search got messed up. I think they used real world tracking people around data a lot more than we knew. The pandemic exposed this. All Google's algorithms are messed and have been messed up during the pandemic.

This is what I am talking about. I get recommended videos from years ago which doesn't have any sense with the niche I'm watching on it.
At this point I work with the Lady of Luck on videos, gambling if they will ever enter on algorithm or not.
 
Here is how youtube "algorithm recomandation" works on my videos.
Most of the views are based on search results. If youtube is screwing with this channel foward, then I will change my way to a new one.
I am still giving it time to see miss fukin suzy will bless me with a piece of algorithm

Here's my most recent "viral" video that happened about 1-2 weeks ago and is still getting like 100 views an hour.

Regarding algorithm changes, Im still using the same tactics that ive used ever since i've started. Some of it was already said but i will repeat it again:
- High CTR (i aim for over 10%)
- Good audience retention (i aim for over 40%)
- Keyword focused and creative title.

I feel like the creativity in titles helps 10x if you actually understand what your audience likes to watch.

This video in particular is sitting at 11% CTR and 30% audience retention.

Do you use any blackhat methods to "boost" your channel by any chance?

What about watchtime?

40% audience retention over a 14 minute video is not the same as 40% audience retention on a 8 minute video for instance

And I wonder how much title keywords matter or its just for CTR only

Any body can deliver views to your videos by SMM API method.
But if you are real popular than you can get the real statistics from your youtube studio.
Check statistics over there.

Secondly My method is to upload regular new video and share the videos with social media or youtube share option.
Answer the comments regular and say people to share your videos.

Title Keywords 100% Matter, not just CTR.

Make sure to have your keywords in the Title, Description, File Name & Beginning of Video.
 
I don't think any of this has any effect, I guess you need some luck.

If youtube is not showing your video (browsing features or recommended) the only remaining factor to watch your video is "search" I have a lot of videos like this and all have 12-15% Clicks and 40-70% show time but I can't go viral.

Of course, viewing and click-through rate is a huge factor in recommending your video. BUT if you want to be a VIRAL friend, luck is very important!

What I wrote above is the result I observed from my own videos.

man is not about youtube luck.. is about you need luck in life . 10% effort 90% luck
 
I don't do anything at all on youtube except subscribe to things I want to watch and IMHO, their algo is a disaster. The next autoplay video is literally NEVER anything I would watch on my own. Their suggestions are pure crap. It's almost as shitty as Amazon's search engine...I say almost, because nothing could be that shitty.

I agree with you is luck. If your video goes viral so be it, even if you put the title, description tags well bla bla bla.
A channel could either go viral in 4 months, either in a few years, as you see random old channels blowing
