Has anyone been affected by the missing video ad issue in the past few months? This is happening with videos that are set to monetize, but apparently advertisers are behind pulling their ads from certain videos?

May be you were facing copyright issue in your video, that could be the reason for not showing ads on your videos.

No, this is based on a YT blog post stating that advertisers are pulling out on some content creators. However, the content type seems so random.

Are you not aware of the advertisers mess that's happening on YT?!
Anyway around 60% have got the Ad's back but lower earnings comparatively.
Its been happening since couple of months now. Not several months, if your Ad's didn't appear from several months then something wrong with your acc. Hope that was helpful:)

So is there a better platform alternative for video mometization? Sounds like YT may never get back to what it was.

Yeah you are right I though after some weeks YT will get back to normal but seems like its still in damsel I hope it gets back else content creators will have to leave YT. Many big channels earnings have dropped to 30-40% or even less.

This is the line from the policy that appears to be affecting some user account videos:
    • Ads may not necessarily be displayed on each view.
However, I don't understand why it's happening on all the videos for so long.

Noone will leave YT, they all got alternative incomes. It might or might not get better with AD's but its too soon to decide anything as of now.

Not every 4th channel will have other sources of income so if YT isnt paying well to them they are more likely to move.
I just hope that the earnings get back like it was earlier.

I can't seem to understand whether the issue is with the advertisers pulling their ads from specific videos or whether YT is just having an issue with inventory. I believe that if advertisers have decided to pull their ads from your videos, then YT owes it to the content provider to let them know this. I understand their discretion to maybe not explain why, but at least the channel creator should be told that there are no ads to serve.

I think it's poor customer relations to tell the YT account holder that their account is "monetizing", but there are no ads to actually allow it monetize it. Just be open and say we screwed up, don't have enough ads to spread around, and we noticed your account has not been on the list of videos to get this ad. Enough of sending the customer to a stupid blog and have them try to guess why this is happening.

True but I am referring to real youtuber, all these new rules won't affect us. But for people who copy content and are making bulk channels and so on have a lot of trouble. I am kinda happy with the new update because it will flush out Non-YouTubers atleast the weak guys who compare YT just as any other social platform. When it is quite different. The rest of things are working fine on YT. Just the AD revenue issue .........

My channel has been hit very hard with the ads. Been getting good revenue all the way up to 18th of April when all of a sudden
it dropped down into oblivion. As of today I'm still getting only 10% of what I earned before. Down from 2 dollars per 1000 views to 0.2
Really sucks a lot because I've put a lot of time and effort into building my channel and have it as part of my income.

My guess is that YouTube only has a limited amount of ads since so many pulled out and therefor they only put those ads on the really
big channels and very specific niches?

    I guess it's here somewhere? https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/72851
Funny thing, the page says that YouTube changed the review process for channels the 18th of April.
The exact same day that 90% of my ads disappeared. Doesn't say anything about that though...

The policy update has nothing to do with creators seeing a decrease in their ad supply. The policy is written to address the bare requirements that a creator needs to meet in order to qualify their video status as "Monetized".

The point of this thread is to understand why already monetized videos have fewer, and in most cases, no rolling ads despite the video being listed as "Monetized" in the YT Video Manager..

The so called Adpocalypse has been happening in YT for the last few weeks, probably a month already.

That's what made me so confused because I can't see anything in the policy regarding ads per video
that has been changed, only the minimum requirement. I have video that have been monetized for a long
time and all of a sudden they are no longer getting ads/revenue.

I still find it very strange that my ads went away the exact same date they implemented the policy though.
Feels like they did something more that isn't said.
