Dear BHW members,

I'm a member on this forum since 2012 - already 6 years +.

I've learned so many things from so many awesome and smart business people here, it's insane. The value alone would be worth way over 50.000$, if I had to value it.

I'm not that active anymore but I still try to help people out every now and then as it is a great way to give something back. At least, that's my point of view.

The reason why I've created this thread is because I'm getting sick of how many repetitive or, I'm sorry for that but it is actually true, stupid questions I read everytime I visit this awesome forum. It seems to me that people aren't able to do research on their own anymore. Like every 5th thread I'm reading here is about the latest "trend" in online-marketing and how to make money with it, even though it's explained in over 100 posts & threads most of the time, or how to get started. People not only seem to be overloaded with the information they get, they are simply said to lazy to find out stuff on their own, even though it's right in front of them. No third parties needed, it's everything here! From basic IM knowledge to advanced strategies for every different area of IM. No matter if it's SEO, SEA, Paid Advertising, Affiliate Marketing, CPA marketing, E-Mail marketing, blogging,... it's is all here, right in front of us! I cannot emphasize this enough but it's like it is. You DON'T need any missing pice of puzzle. You have an already completed puzzle here.

For the sake of people still thinking that all of this doesn't work or it's outdated or it's saturated (the most funniest thing I've heard tbh) I'll present you one of the oldest, since the beginning of the internet established, Internet Marketing "method": It's called

INFORMATION PUBLISHING

This post will be long so I'll suggest you to grab a beer or two (so do I) and read through it from the beginning till the end. Don't skip anything, unless you already know the stuff. For the people who publish infomation on their own, there's no real value in this post as they already know most / all of this stuff.

Ah, before I forget: No, this is not a pre-sales pitch for the next awesome-instant-money-generating -without-any-work kind of information product on this forum. It's just free information - that's why we are all here and love the BHW forum!

Without further ado, let's get straight into it...

Overview:

As already spoilered in the beginning, this "method" is about information publishing. We all know this kind of stuff: digital products in form of eBooks, video courses, paid subscriptions, e-mail newsletters, podcasts, etc. All of these products contain information. That information isn't the newest fancy hidden IM technique, nor is it unique. The greatest thing about this business model is, that you are going to compile exisiting information from all around the web or through business books, academic papers, etc. in one so called information product which you are going to publish afterwards. There is "only" a one time working effort and after that you have your very own digital asset. And it is actually an asset. An asset which you can reproduce in many different formats. If you want launch your first information product you don't have to limit it to an eBook or PDF. You can make a video course out of it or make a voice over and sell it on Amazon as an audiobook. The opportunities are almost endless. What this thread is all about is to walk you through the most important steps in order to publish your first information product. No matter if it's an eBook or and video course - the principles are the same everytime.

1.) Product creation

This is the most important part and will decide upon your future success. "Power is knowledge" - we all know this sentence and it actually true. At least partly, you still have to apply the knowledge in order to get a business benefit out of it. In order to to provide knowledge, you need to deliver information. In knowledge management we speak about the transition from information into knowledge. Connect the infromation together, add a logical structure into it or simply explain the purpose of it will lead into knowledge. And exactly this is what we need for our "information product": knowledge. If you are really strict about it, it should be renamed into "knowledge books" but that's just a random thought...

How are we getting information?

Everywhere! On the internet you have dozens of forums related to any topic. If you want, for example, launch your product about CPA marketing (it doesn't have to be the MMO niche by no means) you could research dozens of books, forums, websites, blogs, etc. Everyone is sharing his information. Some do cost something, most of them do not cost anything. The point is, you need to get enough information regarding your planned product to ensure your future customer will benefit out of it. You don't have to be an hardcore specialist in CPA marketing with 100.000$ per month revenue. If that would be the case, we would have around 5 information products about this topic as most of them who are achieving such sums won't reveal it anyways for obvious reasons. What you need to do is to learn as much as possible. Know your topic as in-depth as possible! Be more knowledgable than the "average joe" and you will create value. It's all about value, only!

How are we creating the information product?

Firstly, you need to do a knowledge check yourself. Try to answer some topic specific questions in forum or Q&A websites. Try to contribute as much as possible and learn even more that way. If you feel ready, start writing down your personal goal for your information product. It should start with:

"With this product I want to deliver.... [information / knowledge about XY] and want to generate a huge value for my future customer"

Secondly, you need to write down the purpose of the information product. What is the problem you want to solve with it?

e.g. "Getting your first CPA campaign setup!", "Making a decent keyword research for a future niche site", etc.

Once you have set yourself a goal and defined the main problem, let's get straight into the creation process. The first thing you need to do is to write down everything which reaches your goal and solves the initial problem. If you want to produce a video course or an audiobook you obviously don't have to write it down, but it's still recommended as you can easily expand a written eBook into any other format like those described.

Divide the eBook into chapters which slowly but steadily provide the solution for the problem and reach your goal at the same time.

Example:
  • Tablet of Content
  • About
  • Overview
  • Problem XY
  • Solution part 1
  • Solution part 2
  • Solution part 3
  • ...
  • Conclusion
If you have everything written down, read through it at least 2 times. Let someone else proof read it again. Don't forget about the value creation which I've talked about in the beginning. At the end, check one more time if all the content is related to your initial problem and goal. If that's the case: Congratulations, you have your first information product created!

2.) Promoting your information product

This is for the majority of people probably the most difficult step. And to be honest, it's kind of but definitely doable.

First you need to find out your target audience you wish to promote your product to. A quick example: If you write about CPA marketing your target audience are people interested in the area of online marketing. If you have a information product about the perfect golf swing, golf playing people will be your target audience.

Regarding this step alone I could write down more then 10.000 words approximately. In order to keep this post clear, I will describe the Online Marketing area as it most likely correlates the most with this readership.

For information products in the IM area, you have dozens of ways to promote it as well. Some of them are:

1.) IM related forums

Almost every IM related forum has it's own marketplace. Here you have your target audience already in place. The cost for launching it on those forums range from 20$ - 100$ per information product.

This is a great start for beginners in the information publishing business. They don't have generate traffic for themselves, they know that they directly reach their disred target audience and the costs for launching a product on such forums are comprehensible. The obvious downside is the lack of control. If someone posts a negative review regarding your product, it will stick there. Generally you should be able to avoid such things anyways by applying the rules in the first chapter of this thread but there is always someone which isn't happy with your product / information or wants to leech it through your money back guarantee.

2.) Paid traffic

You can advertise your product through media buying, native ads or standard ppc advertising like Google Adwords (if it's not restricted ofc). The costs can be relatively high and you need to ensure that your EPC is always greater than your PPC. Same goes with point 1.) ofc.

3.) Special Marketplaces

There are a handful of specialised marketplaces for information products. Not only for the Online Marketing area, you can launch your XYZ niche product as well on those platforms. Platforms like this are: Warrior+, Jvzoo, Clickbank

Promoting your product through this way enables you to access a huge platform with affiliates already in place. The traffic comes either from those affiliates or you have to promote it yourself or through IM related forums. Of course, every other kind of promotion is possible as well.

4.) Self hosted

You can launch your information product on your own website as well. Instead of driving traffic to a third party network, it's your own website hosted on your desired hosting provider. Promoting your product through this way requires to deliver traffic by yourself. Most common ways are: PPC, Social Media Advertising, E-Mail-Marketing

Those are just some examples on how to promote your products.

If we have found a way which suits us, move on the next step:

3.) Sales Page / Landing Page:

This step makes or breaks the success of your launch inlcuding the amount of sales you are going to produce with it.

The purpose of your sales page is to sell your product to your desired target audience. There are dozens of high quality books as well as threads (guess where?) around the web. One I can absolutely recommend is DotComSecrets from Russell Brusons, this guy is an absolute genius in my opion.

Some basics:
  • A strong headline
  • A video (if you want to create a video sales letter)
  • Describe the problem
  • Describe the solution (your product)
  • Insert CTA's regularly
  • Design the page properly
  • Money back guarantee
  • Support options
You can find dozens of sales pages all around. The most important part is to build in your initial defined problem and goal. This is exactly what your future customer wants to know. He is the one with the problem, you are the one providing a solution to it!

Conclusion:

At this stage you should have the following things into place:
  1. A product (eBook, video course, audiobook,...)
  2. A sales page
  3. A platform to promote your product
Those three things are basically everything you need. It's really easy to learn but kind of hard to master. If you do it once you will get the hang out of it. The first information product will most likely don't be that successful but don't let yourself be demotivated, the learning process is still worth it and will make your second or third product even better.

I highly recommend this kind of business to everyone who is serious about information. For people who are half-hearted with that kind of business I can't recommend it all. It's involves serious work and the benefits can be insanely high. Not only are you making money throughout the whole process, the most important part imho is to seriously help others out in any given situation of their live. Trust me, it's such an fenomenal feeling to know that you really helped someone and solved his problem - it's awesome.

With that being said, I have to thank everyone who is willing to share his valuable information
without something in return and I seriously hope to see less repetitive questions in the future.

Thank you for your time reading through this post. I know that only a minority of people reading this thread actually implement it but if it's at least one, my mission is done.

Best regards & have a nice day,
herzit

P.S.: Please do me the favour and don't PM me as everything should be clear after reading this thread. If you have questions to a specific step in this thread, don't hesitate to leave a comment and I will try to answer it as quick as possible!

Coaching and consulting has the highest margins of any kind which this strategy is part of.

There is always money to be made online and the only question is, are you ready to pick it up?

Hustle, hustle, and hustle!

Information overload is caused by the lack of doing.Action is the best teacher.Test Test Test for yourself.

Great share . Should always put your hands on table and start doing

You are welcome guys. If there are any thread specific questions, go ahead and ask them.

Thanks so much for this. I was able to write over 1700 words rough draft in 1 hour. I look forward to finishing my short info ebook and publishing it on Kindle.

EDIT: I noticed you mentioned amazon audobook but not ebook. Would you recommend putting my ebook on kindle. I'm pretty sure if I go that route, I'm only allowed to sell it on Amazon if I want to have sales for 5 days every 90 days or whatever. Not sure if this is a needed feature.

You are welcome. It's the same company, so you won't have any problems. Only if you decide to go with the KDP select program then you aren't allowed to publish on any other platform.

Always good margins for this type of biz.

I would say this and software. Both of them are the way to go in terms of scalability and to achieve passive (at least kind of) income.

Very concise and to the point. This is the process. Now time for action!!

Cheers =)
