Since it'll be a while before I make a thread listing "XYZ Strategy to achieve $1k+ per day continually" I put in an honest effort with my tips. These would be what I'd tell everyone...not just myself.
1. Schedule time to spend with family and close friends (maintain family/social life)
2. Maintain your physical fitness even though you're busy building companies and don't want to go to the gym or eat anther meal
3. Create SEVERAL sources of income (7+) Businesses go through cycles, the only way to make it through the valleys and back up to the peaks is to have varied sources of income (different industries)
4. Spend as much as possible on education outside of school. Build up a library, take courses, read, learn. If you're not spending money on education/training you are not progressing.
5. Do not waste any time on TV, Sporting events, and meaningless activities.
6. Set aside $50-100 every week (depending on what you can afford) to PAY FOR LUNCH/DRINK/DINNER for someone else who can provide you with knowledge/a mentorship. Don't do this with the same person every week but rotate.
7. Bad/negative people are like cancerous cells. A mutation that grows and takes over the body and kills it. Immediately remove bad/negative people from your life. You are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with.
8. Do not waste time. Account for your time-you'd be surprised how much time you waste
9. Set goals, 10x those goals and work hard, stay focused, do not relent. Goals are not "I want to be rich." Goals are "I want $10,000 by January 1st of 2018. I currently have $XXX saved, invested at 5%. In order to reach my goal, I need to save and invest $X per month"
10. Toughen up- come to the realization that if you're reading this forum you may have had a bad past but you're not walking 5 miles in Africa to get a pail of water and may get raped/killed on the way. Translation: you do not need 8-9 hours of sleep a night, you can work 16-18 hour days. We have this genius invention called the internet, you can find out how to land on the moon if you research enough (you may not be able to fun the moon landing project) but the point is...most things can be accomplished. Toughen up, get constructive criticism, don't cry over it, work smart and hard.
11. Dress well, present yourself well. This does not mean you need high end designer clothing. Do not wear old t shirts you got at an online marketing convention 5 years ago around in public. Your clothing should be free of stains, shirts should be ironed/steamed, well fitted and presentable. Pants/jeans should be free of stains/wrinkles (steam them), well fitted and presentable. Your shoes should be cleaned/polished/waxed. Your car should be clean without a "check engine" light on. Invest in a decent cologne that doesn't make you smell like a french wh*re house. You never know who you are going to run into on the way to the grocery store. A friend of mine was shopping for shoes in NYC and was in the store with Warren Buffet (people pay $3m+ a year to have lunch with him on the eBay auction.) None of this requires massive investment, take pride in yourself and maintain your clothes. Even if it's a $5 button down shirt take care of it. Do not walk around with an old disgusting iPhone case. If you won't take care of yourself and pay attention to detail, how will you pay attention to detail in our dealings?
12. Pickup interesting hobbies that can be used to network with others. "I'm a member at XYZ country/yacht/social club....I'll bring you one time" "I own a boat, airplane, helicopter...I'll bring you for a ride" "I own a hunting lodge...let's go" "I maintain a condo in XYZ sunny location, stay at my place." People don't do things for free, they do things because there's value involved. Want to get your son with a lackluster GPA into Harvard-building a library will help. Son graduates with horrendous GPA and wants a job at Goldman? Maintaining a private banking account there may get his application to the front of the line. Don't expect people to do things and help you out because you have a nice smile. Offer value, do not be a leech.
12. Titans do not drink in public and if they happen to, never beyond a drink or two. Do not waste money on alcohol/drugs, etc. Do not drink, become high on life. If you're not high on life then you're not maintaining hobbies
13. Hire a good accountant, lawyer, finance manager, private investigator. Have your lawyer review all contracts/business plans for liabilities. Before doing a deal with someone have a private investigator conduct a throughout background check, your best friend of 5 years can secretly be a con artist (I've seen it happen before and I've also witnessed the aftermath.) Your accountant maybe expensive but they should make you money but saving you on tax. Finance manager should help you sleep at night and SHOULD have the intellectual capacity to assist with the 9th tip on this list.
14. Become involved in a non-profit that you feel strongly about. If you have time-volunteer, if you're too busy making money (like you should be) send a check. If you send enough checks you'll be involved to join a board/the board. This makes you more of a well rounded person and less of a complete capitalist pig. If you do want to contribute to a non-profit in a non-western democracy do not donate money but equipment..there's less likelihood of it being used for embezzlement purposes, etc.
15. Learn about personal finance as much as possible so that you can bring ideal and work with your finance manager better. This applies to accountant, and lawyer as well.
16. Finding good staff is very difficult. When you find them-treat them very well. Work on your organizations culture, make it a good place to work. Have office events, family days, appreciation days. Make people develop pride in their position, show your appreciation..they will go above and beyond for you. Mentor your employees to one day become managers of a business within your portfolio and one day a business partner. Take note of people's birthdays, important days, anniversaries, children's birthdays. The $50 you spend on flowers/a gift will save/make you thousands if not more.
17. Treat people well, be honest. The world is large but the internet makes it very small. Don't forget that...
