I repurposed the videos and infographics for my consulting business, and waited until the content was deindexed, then used it for guest posts for my consulting business. Overall it has been good since then.

I don't have huge failures yet but I did spend $20 for a couple e-books as a newbie which of course were filled with bullshit.
 
Buying about half a dozen WSOs.

All turned out to be crap and available for free on here!!!
 
Spending too much time developing custom software and systems when existing tools could have solved the problem in like 1% as much time.

The projects were still successful, but spending a month developing a tool would have been better spent marketing.
 
Had a website that generated 2-3k a month in ad revenue, it got DMCA'ed so I got scared and left it. Waited several months before seeing a lawyer to pretty much find out it was ok. Tons of money down the drain that could've been in my bank account. Same thing happened until last month, my website got dmca'ed and I tried to 301 redirect it to a new domain like before but things changed and it takes months to re-rank like that instead I discovered 5 months later that using a subdomain of the same root domain works a lot better, potentially 10-30k could've been in my pocket instead.
 
I made a website 3 years back, after analyzing a similar website on flippa which was making 2k per month. I didn't know that it has a lot of competition and lot of people are targeting same keywords, however, i was still able to rank 4th position for the secondary keyword but CPC and CTR were extremely low, with 250-400 per day traffic I was getting 2-3 clicks with CPC of 0.02.

I invested a lot of time, effort and $500 in that project but it was not worth it. I finally removed all the content as it was not worth to have that much of traffic on shared hosting.

Sounds like you should of tried monetizing it a bit better, I have never had an instance where i said thats too much traffic for hosting. Unless it was non usa traffic, usa traffic you can almost always monetize if your creative, trying affiliates, offers etc.

It was Indian Traffic, I know USA traffic can be monetized but its very difficult to Monetize Indian Traffic unless yo have tons of them as they don't prefer to buy online, and it was in Whatsapp Status niche where people were not interested in purchasing anything.
 
Are we constrained to just IM...? Cause opening a restaurant, instead of buying a house was probably the worst financial decision I have ever made.

It was my early days before I knew better. I did find all of the methods shared freely on here and various other sites.

Managed to get refunds on some though.

We've all done that, then you realise you know more than all these so called "experts".

My biggest failures aren't so much failures, it's more that a huge opportunity came along and for whatever reason I didn't have the time or cash to invest in it.

I know a guy who is very wealthy, unsure if a genuine millionaire but safe to say he's doing well for himself! About 10 years back we both had an opportunity in a new niche.

He had the cash and time to really push it, he's where he is now.

Hopefully, one day, I'll spot another such opportunity and I'm determined to just run with it!!!
 
It is not a failure if you have learned something.

But with that said, I have stupidly tanked a lot of sites i've invested money and time on. And I still try my luck with GSA...:D
