Your worst Google dance?

My worst google dance was going from #7 for a term that gets about 1,000,000 exact monthly searches and landing on page 42 for like 6 months. I stopped building links completely (I thought I was fucked) and started on a new site in the same niche with a different C class IP.

Then all of a sudden it came back and start ranking #3. I was checking my adsense stats one day and there was a whole heap of traffic that shouldn't have been there, took me like 3 days to realize what had happened because I completely wrote that site off in my mind.

some of my new sites stuck at position 27-30 wtf is this? :))

Well timewise I don't know as I'm quite new to seo. But the site I'm ranking jumped beyond page 50 just to land top page 2 a day later.

I'm in a google dance right now with one of my sites. Went from 1-3 position for my selected keywords to NOTHING, 100-400pos, after buying a 4-tier linkwheel and updating some content. Been 5 days now, just pulling in some random longtails. Hopefully back soon!

We all Dance, it's absolutely normal specially if building loads of links

Okay - googs is making my site dance once more.

Is goog dance happens all the time? How often?

40 days in a specific url,but i back in the 1# and i was in the 10#.

Well my worst one was a 15-20 day one :)
Then ranked on #2 place on first page!

Maximum period of google dance, for me was almost a month, for a keyword... after this it was 1 week between 4-8 position and one week "out of radar"...for a period of 2 month. Now, it is stabilized at 4postion from 3weeks...
PS: It is a blog with 4 articles ,maybe this can cause this unexpected google dance, latest rumours are that Google want to deindex sniper sites...

Here's my worst one so far (7 keywords):

Worst google dance??
Must have been little more than 4 weeks in september '10. Was on position 7 for a keyword.
Dropped to 92!! omg.. i went crazy... was so &^%$in pissed...
But in the end its 'google dance' :) and am back where am to be..

I'm in a google dance for about 4 months with one of my sites. So I guess you might need some more patience.

My site has been bouncing around for 6 months now. It spends 2-3 days in the top 5 positions on google then disappears to no where for 3 weeks. Is getting damn annoying

i get the dance everytime i do a scrapebox blast, now i try to space them a bit more , but i do come back stronger.

What was your longest time it took to return from a Google dance? Asking because my site is buried for 3 weeks now.

2 years can you believe, I was new to IM and hammered my new sites as suggested by people on here at the time. My sites are all back in the listings now though. Slow and steady is the way with new sites I've learnt.

1998, we were dancing tango in the annual Google ceremony when I committed a mistake and felt...she never forgiven me...
