Your work ethic and having a girlfriend?

I ran a very prosperous and successful company prior to selling it a few years back when I worked almost non stop only to take short sleep breaks. Then the money came in and I allowed myself a little extra time to relax and with that came time to actually date and get a girlfriend.

The thing with having a woman though especially a high maintenance one is that you can’t just put them on a shelf until you need to use them again you need to constantly maintain not only her but your relationship just like you would with a business. So now I’m splitting time between relaxing , a woman and trying to work. I split with my partner just weeks ago after a couple of years of us having a run and I’ve been not only more productive in the last few weeks but noticed that I started earning more money to add to that, a feeling I really missed during this relationship time.

You will notice some of the most successful people on earth simply have no time for women. Steve Jobs cold heartedly even left his woman and kids and borderline never looked back.

This is just my perspective and something I noticed, you just won’t be able to do both if you truly want to become super wealthy.

So what’s your take on this? Any perspective or experience you could share?

As hard as it may be to hear, there’s women out there who share the same work ethic as us. Find one of those and you’re set for life.

Women are human so yes you need to invest in a relationship like you would with any person.

If you have problems forming and maintaining interpersonal relationships this will should up in romantic relationships as well.

If you only seem to have problems maintaining relationships, consistently, with women with different views, backgrounds, careers etc then usually it is the personality of the man that is the cause of the problems.

It depends on what you want to get from life, as a rule your legacy will be the relationships you form with people - family and friends - and not what you work on, unless you form a groundbreaking company.

Even if you did focus 100% on being the next Microsoft or Google you will probably not succeed.

I would recommend focusing on what you think matters most to you, for most people this will be family and friends. Being on a forum devoted to entrepreneurship the replies you get on this thread will not be representative.
 
As a cool guy that turned into a nerd later in life I'll tell you right now, if a woman needs all of your time you need to train her properly or show her that your time is valuable.

Women learn that you can't fuck with the money being brought in very easily.
 
A woman can either make you or break you so it really depends on the kind of women you are dating. some women can be blessing in your life while another a curse
 
Try having a fiancée, lol.

Everything requires your time, it's just about how you manage it. Also if a woman is "high maintenance" it's definitely not the ONE you should be dating.

Lately, I've been working basically 8 AM to 9-10 PM, chill with her 'till 11-12, sleep and repeat. And she doesn't mind. If she had problems with that, I would definitely have to reconsider the relationship.

She knows that work and being productive is really important to me, so she doesn't bother me and finds things to do on her own.

The wrong girl can definitely ruin your business and productivity (speaking from experience with my ex).
 
My perspective on this is that you gotta make yourself the priority. Always.

If a woman respects you and your dreams and wants to help you climb then she's welcome to join you.
If you're trying to climb and she keeps pulling you down then she's not the one for you.

I truly live by those words.
 
I feel you. This is probably the main reason that I don't have a girlfriend. I used to have plenty of them back when I was in high school. To be honest, it was really exhausting. The only people that want for me to have a girlfriend are my family. It's really annoying. I just want to focus on myself
 
My girlfriend is a diamond..one time we had sex, got up at 2am and both got our laptops out and started working.

We had a problem this week so I decided to not to talk with her for 2 days so i closed my phone didn't open fb or whatsapp for 2 days and did much work that i didn't dis for a hole week

If you want to be successful in any field of life (even relationships) you will have to sacrifice something else.
Balancing is very hard. Such is life.

I think its more about what you want to focus at life and what makes you happy.
If you feel being in a relationship its damaging for you at this stage of you life then don't do it.
But think twice maybe you will start feeling lonely and maybe your last girlfriend was way too demanding and
you just didn't realised. Many more questions like that can pop-up just give it a good thought and at the end pick what
you feel its going to make you happy in the long run.
 
Everything in life is an investment, so is love.
Sure monetary wise you want to put in less and get our more, but in general getting less back than you put in means it was a total v waste.

With love, you gotta put something in to get something back it's not a one way street. The time to feel you have put in, look at your partner and it's likely the same or more. If one part always puts in more (not talking money here at all) than yes, maybe time to re evaluate. However, more often than not you only see the effort, sacrifice you made and don't take the other side into account.

TLDR
You get back what you put in, or so some understand it: you get what you pay for (in terms of emotional and time commitment)
