I'm thinking of doing an Interview with an old friend of mine who used to run a proxy business. To be honest I don't know that much about them so I want to learn as well. I was wondering what are biggest questions/concerns when it comes to getting/buying proxies.

Let me know and I'll get answer from him and post it here or possibly do an audio interview if anybody is interested just let me know.

Can he provide reverse / socks proxies (sockets/IPs/socks) with geo-location for USA, San Francisco, CA region / San Francisco Bay Area region)?

If so what are the prices?

When buying proxies, how do you know what previous users were doing with the same IP?

My question: Will the popularity of IPv6 change the proxy business and how?

I mean, right now the IPv4 is becaming rare, and more and more people need fresh proxies each day. If there is no new resource to come soon, their price will have to rise, am I wrong?

IPv6 doesn't identify an individual,Its just about as exploitable in terms of anonymity if the person using it who wants anonymity needs it to be.Proxies will work.
    v6 had benefits..but it's still exploitable.

You got it right. The spare IPv4 IPs are virtually gone in Asia and Europe. About to run out of spare ARIN IPs here in USA by the end of this summer.

And yes, the IP costs will definitely go up. Existing private proxies providers (from here on BHW, not out there) have the advantages due to their existing IPv4 IPs inventory in place. It means that it's much more cost effective to stick with the existing reliable private proxy providers than trying to do it on your own.

    Hope it helps.
