Your priority when doing KW research

Just wondering, what are your priorities when analyzing a keyword?

I'm using market samurai as my tool and under seo competition, there's

1. Domain Age
2. Page rank
3. Index count
4. Referring Domains
5. Referring domains - Page
6. Page backlinks
7. Domain backlinks
8. Page .edu/.gov backlinks
9. DMOZ directory
10. YAHOO directory
11. Keyword in title
12. Keyword in URL
13. Keyword in description
14. Keyword in header tag

Which are the top 5 most important factors on analyzing a kw for an adsense site?

I have attached a kw that I come across but I dunno if i should jump on it. Global monthly searches of 9900 with very high CPC.

Go for this keyword. 7 websites ranking without backlinks and none of the websites has done Onpage SEO.

Backlinks to page and the last 4 (relating to on-page seo) are what I analyze. That keyword doesn't look to have much competition and it should be fairly easy to rank.

But the competition has a lot of IC, RDD and BLD

Also 6 out of 10 of the top 10s are .edu websites, does google place a higher priority for .edu websites to rank better in top10?

of course! You can outperform them only with MORE edu backlinks or Gov backlinks with relevancy to your desired niche!:ballchain

Don't worry about that. You can outrank ANY sites as long as they are poor in on-site/off-site SEO.

That one should be pretty easy to stomp your way onto the first page. Good luck with it.

Thanks for all the help guys! I'm just worried because of their domain backlinks, rdd and ic are extremely high.

I feel much more motivated now !

Edit: I found this 6 word keyword (sounds wrong). I use ms + traffic travis to do my kw research but both softwares are giving me totally different results. (in attachment)

I just don't feel 100% because those top10 websites I have been looking at this niche. has TONS of IC, DA, RDD, BLD but crappy on-site seo + RDP and BLP.

For traffic travis, the top 10 sites has 0 page authority. I'm just not sure if I have uncovered a platinum nugget or just no one have uncovered these keywords. yet...

What do you guys think? Traffic travis gave me an Easy difficulty keyword.
