Hi Community,

I was planning to outsource some projects to Upwork, but these are just hypotheses that I would like to implement quickly.
That's why I'm thinking whether to spend $2-3k on an app (that also has a good architecture, code and scalable from the start), or try a no-code platform first.

I am aware that with a good architecture and servers I can quickly come to high hosting costs with such no-code platforms and there will certainly be complications with migration in the future (since the app will be written almost without code).

+ where I am additionally concerned: reliability. I have to trust this platform, its uptime, its multiple API's ... and there could be hundreds of scenarios when something goes wrong all at once and you don't have it under control. (unlike if you were the server admin and code owner)...

I mean, $2k+ is no problem for a small app. It's better to bet on quality than for later migraine?

What are your opinions on this?

I use daftpage for my sites, it has decent functionality and with the paid plan you can also export the code (costs like $20 or so), not sure if it's what you're looking for though.

Thanks.

I'm looking for a solution where I could build a membership site with creator-community, revenue sharing, multiple payment integrations (incl. crypto) und secure member media uploading.

For a membership site you'd be better off using Wordpress in that case, but you can make the base pages from daftpage if you like how they look and then use that code for the actual pages. For payments check out coinbase commerce and authorize.net, not too sure about revsharing as I do it by gumroad myself these days but plan to switch soon as the fee is way too high.

BuildFire is an easy DIY "no-coding needed" platform to create professional-grade iOS and Android mobile apps.

Thanks.

You're better off hiring someone for something like this.

If you want a quick solution, There are hundreds of prebuilt membership template wordpress sites.

Imo, low-code tools are only worth it when you need a quick prototype or have a very small well defined problem. Your situation (need for further customisation, multiple payment methods, additional features in the future etc) will benefit from a bespoke solution instead.

The issue:

There are almost no WordPress plugins allowing rev-sharing in a creator, subscription based community like OnlyFans.

Also, WordPress would break quickly if you suddenly have many users accessing the database lol

Hire a django/nodejs dev from a reputed freelancing platform.

If you're not in a restricted/prohibited niche, use Stripe APIs for subscriptions and revenue sharing.

What industry/niche is your product/service is in btw? If you don't mind me asking that is.

I would help with this lol but I neither have the time right now nor Jr VIP credentials to do business with.

Yeah, that's what I'm actually planning to do.

Found a guy on Upwork who's an expert in ExpressJS, NestJS, ReactJS, AWS. He would do the job for $3-4k.

Niche: Audult 18+, similar to OnlyFans, but focused on a micro-niche. I might need an alternative payment provider if suddenly Stripe decides to block my app because of adult content.

Don't go with Stripe the. They don't allow adult. If there's nudity, it's against their Terms and it's too much of a headache to operate under the radar.

Hmm didn't OnlyFans itself start with Stripe back in the day?

I'm trying to figure out what they use now and what the best payment providers are for the adult industry. (ofc i'd integrate crypto too)

Stripe makes a special exception for them now because they bring in too much money. Stripe's TOS were also very lax back in the day.

Adult really is a bitch to figure payments out for. i helped a client to setup a payment gateway with a provider called PayKings. Don't know how their service is tho since I have lost touch with the client long ago.

The providers in the adult industry are the big guns. CCPay, Epoch, Instabill, SegPay etc. These folks provide payment services for most big Adult and High risk stuff out there. CBD/Adult/Nutra/Gambling, you name it.
But it's also insanely difficult to get a merchant account with them.

legit payment processing for Adult is tough. So tough that BangBros Network found it more economical to make their own payment processor (ProBiller) than use an existing one.

Great points & advice, thx a lot!

I was also considering crypto processors which support fiat.

Let’s say, users purchase crypto with credit card, then crypto is converted to some kind of virtual tokens.

But yeah, these crypto payment processors may also dislike adult platforms/content.

I prefer wordpress with elementor installed.
