Anything from Two Steps from Hell is pretty epic more often than not.
I like ones which start from low point (sadness/failure) and then goes to high note (success/euphoria)

I listen to more symphonic metal bands and most of them sound epic too. 
Nightwish, Within Temptation, Amaranthe, Kamelot, Delain etc.
