If you need to use something different than google analytics for your sites, what would that be?
Something that can track lots of domains at once.

p.s.
please don't say awstats

I've used KissMetrics but there is a large cost associated; whats the reason behind not using GA? That might narrow down your other options

Statcounter is a free service that I've added recently. I especially love the (almost) real time exit links report that they have.

piwik - open source, has API you can query for multiple sites

getclicky - nice real-time spy mode

I vote for Piwik. It's also self-hosted so you don't rely on anyone for stats.

Getclicky is amazing but I believe it's not self-hosted. Also it's not free unless you have less than 3000 pageviews per day. And of course no premium features as well!

I usually just write something in php which I can view from a central location. If all you're after is basic stats info such as hit counts & referrers, it's pretty easy to do.

I like piwik. Only downfall is it leaves an obvious footprint unless you make a new installation for each domain you are tracking.

Statcounter all the way...a big no to Google A. Google knows enough about us already.

Statcounter as well... it looks like its just about unanimous. They have a great free service with full tracking.

woopra has been good to me........

haven't used statscounter for over a year, but found it was a resource and DB process hog. may have changed since then.

statcounter. Since recent upgrades it even shows your position in google for keywords when people come via google.

Stat counter is probably your best choice, but I got hooked to

Extreme Tracking

Simplicity itself
