your fav 2010 mmo?

ok lets face it...there r 11.5 million active world of warcraft accounts so statistics say quite a few mmo players r bound to be hee whether is f2p or p2p.my question for you guys...which mmo of this year do you like?

currently gpotato re-entered the mmo scene with a bang.
after the intitial success then the waning of the mmo flyff they introduced 2 big budget(supposedly 12 million) games aika onlin and allods online both being called potential wow killers. i know u have heard the term before but trust me allods has the potential to knock wow out of the scene(mind you i said potential)

though allods is strikingly similar to wow interface,grafix and gameplay wise
the end game content is very different.YOU HAVE MASSIVE SPACE SHIP BATTLES IN SPACE . its like a complete ship with player being the commanders navigaters or just crew memebers. you can even be like pirates and invade other ships. this capability is completely unique (nothing like eve) and could give wow a run for its money.

Aika on the other hand has a cool pet system that enchances and assists you battles and AMAZING(i mean breathtaking) grafix. and when you do your moves your character says the name of the move(its awesome).
Its secret weapon to be one the the best games of the year? it can host and DOES host a full THOUSAND VERUS THOUSAND PVP nation war...thats a lot of people in one place. mind you such large scale fights could make you lagg if ur pc is not adequate(unless u use alienware).
only downside is the the classes are gender locked

One more favourite of mine is TERA online. It has beutiful grafix and sound and the pvp is revolutionary..no more click and win...this is the real deal.You can jump to avoid attacks(yes the normal spacebar jump) you can counter an attack with you block button if timed right hell you can miss your move if it aint aimed right.

Yes these are the best lookin f2p games right now and lookin at the stats the f2p are gonna dominate over p2p this year.

some of the anticipated p2p of 2010 are

guild wars 2: havt played the series or this one so dont know much

the star wars online is probably gonna self destruct before it hits the market(those laser swords get more irritating each year)

probably the 2 most anticipated p2p mmos of this year are world of warcraft cataclysm and final fantasy 14(awesome game )

that about sums up my choice although the f2p r gr8 i dont think it will influence wows dominance much for some time after all u gotta know that wow was first launched in 2001 when the only other good mmo was..runescape. i mean COME ON which one would you choose? runescape or wow. it basically got 9-10 million players before the good stuff hit the market so they have a good foundation although quality wise i have to give it to allods aika and tera over wow...all 3 r way better and a more satisfying gaming experience than wow.
so your thoughts?

meh...starcraft...not really i see game breaking games this year...sc aint offering anything new

Starcraft 2 will actually be pretty cool. Hopefully it will be out this year along with the new Diablo.

Allods online is complete garbage, played it for 30minutes and then uninstalled it. Just another grindfest from gpotato.

Ryzom is back with a new developer and is worth a look if your into rpg sandbox mmo's
Darkfall is another good all out pvp mmo. *hardcore players only*


What do you guys think about star trek? from what i have been hearing is that its not so good, dont feel like dropping the $50 to try it out.

WoW player here.. getting kinda bored of it though.. after like 3 years, the servers are absolute garbage now.

@PigBenus...dont comment on a game after just playing for 30 mins..i agree that tis a grind fest but seriously speaking end game content is WAAAAAAY better than wow..just cuz its hard to level doesnt mean its bad...think of it this way...
if it takes 5 hours to get to level 7 then every one else must also be near the same level...the raito just differs game is still balanced...skill and stat distribution is good and space wars r AMAZING.

@lakerfan....i dont even know what to say....runescape is shit..ok? iv played it for 2 years...earned about 1 bill and kept chopping wood day in and day out...drove me to the brink of insanity

@money mike if your looking for a game similar in gameplay grafix and interface to wow but whose end game content is MUCH MUCH MUCH BETTER AND YOU DONT HAVE TO DESTROY YOUR SOCIAL LIFE TO GET GOOD IN IT then i suggest allods online..its grafix even though like wow are MUCH MORE polished.
tera online like is said is always refreshing with the real time dynamic pvp combat and aika online is just a beutiful game..frankly speaking i dunno which one ill play after my exams...all the f2p seem so much better than the p2p this year
@pasdoy i havnt tried the beta of star trek 2..will do it after my exams and say how it is

Guild wars is an amazing game, if GW2 lives up to the original, then it will be a must have also I have been playing GW since it came out and have all expansions. Improvements/updates and such come out very frequently and all errors and bugs (as few as there are) are fixed very fast.

But my at heart game is the Diablo series. I love D2 and my life long dream is for Diablo 3 to come out lol. Have been waiting on it for years and finally last year Blizzard announced its in the making (finally!) but will probably take another 2-3 years to finish

Allods is garbage, Atlantica is garbage, Aion is rather nice, Darkfall is reasonably good, Aika is crap, all new Ijji MMOs are crap, Guild Wars 2 should be an excellent game.

If you want space battles, play Sins Of A Solar Empire IMO.

Addendum: nothing will kill WoW. The other MMOs are crap and the 13 million players have too bad of a taste to realize WoW is (slightly less) crap as well.

I like how the OP talked about MMO's and people reply with ''Starcraft 2''.

Anyway, Guild Wars 2 all the way baby. Guild Wars was such an epic game, oh how I much the joy of winning in the Hall of Heroes with some generic IWAY team.

agreed DW is really good..havnt had a chance to play it yet but the videos on youtube look good.

dont diss games without a reason..i can right now list u 10 reasons which make world of warcraft far inferior to other games

may i remind you back when wow was made the only other mmo alternative was runescape..so i ask you which one would you choose? out of the 11.5 million people playing wow...9million was accumulated before any worthy mmo was out and the rest 2.5 million followed due to the fan base and that fact that it was so highly talked about..as a matter of fact i can tell you that 80% of the people who started playing wow after 2007 said that the game was trash and they have played far better games... the only reason wow is on top ATM is because of the irritating fanboy of which you are obviously one...dont get me wrong..wow is an excellent game iv played for about a year, but its not the best and it WILL be dethroned very soon by either tera allods or the up and coming blade and soul
