just interested in feedbacks regarding using opensubtitles as a promotion method
here are the terms (in case your not familiar with their offers) :
Guidelines for advertisement in subtitles
- insertion of your ad can be on start or end or start+end (counted as 2 insertions) of movie/tv subtitles
- price is 0.05 USD per 1000 insertions = 0.05 CPM, discounts possible with bigger budget (more than 300 USD)
- minimum budget for setting up campaign is 50 USD
- can be done in multiple languages, (other criteria (movie type/titles/genre/keywords/year... or user geo...) are also possible, set up fee can occur)
- ad language must be same as subtitle language
- no sex/offensive advertisement
- ad must be max 40 characters per line, 2 line max (then problem with viewing can occur)
- you will get every day email with stats, access to online stats also possible on request
- ad is inserted only for API users - subs downloaded by programs/scripts (except VIP, admins etc.)
- subtitles are always horizontally centered and displayed on BOTTOM of the screen, no coloring possible
- ads are inserted in realtime (subtitle file is analyzed, and ad is inserted in "silent" place)
- on request it is possible to limit number of ad insertions per day

- payment must be made before campaign using

- total insertions done per DAY is around 10.000.000
- total insertions for English/1 day: 2.500.000
- total insertions for Dutch/1 day: 350.000
- total insertions for Spanish/1 day: 250.000
- total insertions for French/1 day: 200.000
my main interest is which/offers would converd best with this. If you think it has quiet an audience, vlc, butter.
