Your Dream Profession

If money does not matter at all, what would be your dream profession or something you would like to do?

For me it would be something like enviroment protection or wildlife protection, around those lines. I would happily do that full time for free if money wouldnt matter. Its not like I hate what Im doing, I like the problem solving part of "internet money" and the creative part like website building (even though i cant even code

). Unfortunately its very hard to make money with environment/animal protection (at least ethically).

What would it be for you guys? Curious if some people would choose the "getting your hands dirty" path like woodworking or similar. Or maybe some of you already have their dream profession.

My dad did woodworking, and I guess I would just open a food store and make it affordable for people with lower incomes. I think they might have something like that in Canada. Also, build a computer and job-skills lab in Nepal for the orphaned kids there. Some are just dreams, but some I am working on in the next 10 years or so.

A friend of mine has a restaurant in a touristic third world country. Every time someone orders a dish someone else (people in need or with not much money) will get a meal for free. He likes what hes doing so much! Best of luck for your plans!

you might think I'm making fun of you, but I assure you that I'm not when I say that I've always been good at spotting phoniness and weaknesses in people, so - based on this peculiar thing (and since you've asked what we would love doing as a profession) - I swear that I would find it up my alley to criticize people for a living (not not even joking)

There is niches for that! I think i saw a documentary about a guy whos in general a "life coach" and he did pretty much what youre good at

but I'm not talking about life coaching, I know that there have been people in this niche for decades, and those people give constructive advice on how to improve your life.

I am talking about the opposite... sort of. I want to tell people how pathetic they are at [whatever], and to tell them "bro, you SUCK at this, you are fucking idiot, git gud, scrub!" ... You can call it insulting if you want (and part of this is insulting indeed), but I'm not talking about insulting them cheaply, I genuinely refer to spotting their deepest, core weaknesses as humans and picking on those things

Reading this, however I think it's best for everyone (including for myself as given how fragile I am I would probably get headbutted by some easily triggered individual) that there isn't a profession like this, otherwise mankind would be screwed even faster than how the current rules manage to screw it. I think I'd beat them at that

Honestly, something in research or investigation — specifically investigative journalism or competitive intelligence work.

The part of internet marketing I genuinely enjoy is the detective aspect: figuring out why a competitor is ranking, reverse-engineering a business model from their public signals, finding the angle nobody else has noticed. The actual content creation and link building I do on autopilot, but the research phase is where I get absorbed.

If money didn't matter, I'd want to do that full time but applied to something with more real-world stakes — investigative finance journalism, policy research, or even something like market intelligence for NGOs.

The navyraiser wildlife protection answer resonates too. There's something about work that feels like it has a clear positive output in the real world that "rank this affiliate site" just doesn't provide, no matter how good the paycheck is. The problem-solving part of this work is genuinely engaging — the purpose layer is where it falls short for me personally.

Cyber security, and computer science in general, can't help but imagine, how simple on and off electrical signals translate into complex machines that can do almost anything. Feeling like going back to school to start from the very beginning and focus on computer science, sadly can't learn on empty stomach currently broke as fk.

I have a profession in mind, but it’s more like a retirement dream, I’ve always wanted to open a café.
I’d just spend my days there, and it would have a few extra rooms for guests. I’ve always loved cooking, so I’d make my own menu and food, lead a great team, and take care of my employees by giving back.
I’d want to be friends with everyone there. And one day, I’d peacefully leave this world in that very café, and leaving everything to the people who worked alongside me.

But sometimes I wanted to become The President
