Your Biggest IM Mistake?

my biggest mistake was almost givin up sometime ago. i know every IM has its own thing but for me, i was thankful to those mistakes because it made me who iam right now.

My biggest mistake was taking down some high converting ads after another guy claimed they were copies of his. I created some better ones, and then the same affiliate stole my better ad copies and told me to screw off. Lost 2-3 days of revenue, and the niche got saturated quickly. Was netting $2-3k when I pulled the ads.

well mine was after i resigned to my job i've wasted my 2 years on playing video games and watching movies and tv shows all day!

2 years bum! coz i feel sorry for myself, i cant get a job due to overqualified or they don't want me :D lol!

but now IM is my work, working 4-8 hrs a day!

im happy coz im earning more than an office managers salary :D

I'll start it off! Just about three years ago I started a niche sex tube and in three months it ranked 6000 in the world and was getting over 15,000 uniques a day!

Sadly I really didn't know crap about IM at the time and sold it to someone who did. I got $20,000 for it on eBay and thought I was the king of the internet.

I got an email from the buyer saying he was looking to sell and thought it only right to ask the original owner (me) if I'd like to purchase it. The asking price $250,000. I thought he was joking and told me that he did nothing to the site since he bought it and only knew how to monetize it, and monetize it he did. He was getting between $500 and $700 a day, everyday!

When I owned it I was making $3 to $5 a day...Dohhh!

Anyway this is the one that got away. :(

Anyone else like to share?

I feel you there on that one mate.

My biggest mistake is thinking it was gonna be a breeze to get money online overnight.

Three years on and only earned $1,200 in that time.

Its achievable but you gotta focus and give it all due respect and research.

My biggest mistake : I didn't think updating my website's material was necessary and that it will go viral like that..... what a loser i was :P

Had some of my ranked bloggers get deleted.
Almost had my adsense account with 720$ banned
Lost Hundreds of dollars every month from my link sales for over charging
Wasted 6 Months trying to become popular with my blogger blog and only made 25$

My biggest mistake that I made $0 PROFIT online, well I made money but used it on shit services, now I'm starting to get serious, not waste money on shit!

1. Me? My biggest mistake was thinking about girls when I should have been on my grind. I know I have to work hard in my early days of IM to produce favorable results in the long run. This month's productivity and revenue was killed because I kept thinking about this one chick.... Well fuck that, my motto is disregard females, acquire currency. I don't hate myself for thinking about that chick though, because with each failure comes experience and knowledge. Because of that experience, now when some chick is totally on my mind, I'll be able to see through it and know how to act and keep my cool. I'm still a youngin and I need to pull in numbers fast while the affiliate marketing industry lasts. I do sacrifice parts of my social life. Some haters may hate, but I'm willing to do whatever it takes to be a big success. In 10 years from now, those same haters who bashed on me for being a success will be working 9-5 jobs and struggling to pay the bills while I'll be sipping martinis from a jacuzzi and I work on my laptop. And all I'll have to worry about is getting chicks, which is damn easy once you've got the time, money, confidence, and maturity that has come through years of hard work and persistence.

2. Modern warfare 2. I fell into the trap a month ago. I had no xbox before that... and now I'm playing it at least 1-2 hours a day. Big waste of time, but each day I find myself playing it less and less, and it's a great experience to fight off addictions. I've done it before, I'll do it again.

I was addicted to diablo 2 like mad. What did I do? Gave away my accounts and broke my CDs. Yeah, it did torment me for like a week, but after that I completely forgot about it and thanked myself.

Same happened for me for counter strike...I was totally addicted (that time I haven't knew for IM, only for those bux sites). I deleted cs and first month was damn hard and boring. After that I started IM and few months later found this great forum. Now I almost totally forgot cs....

For mistake, my biggest one was not taking action on one great method (now it's dead) :(

Looks like I'm not the only one, eh? I guess we all make mistakes. :o

Damn I hate CS .... Becouse of Hitbox bugs and stuff like that you can empty an entire clip in someones head and they don't die..

my biggest mistake was quitting IM in 2004 when i was 19. I stumbled across the rich jerk then, i read it thought IM was easy when i realized it wasnt i quit. didnt come back to IM till I was 25. If i only stuck with it maybe super affiliate status lol

Trying to create the next big thing.

I let my ego lead me instead of my bank account.

I made $15k with my first software and rather than continuing down a path I knew worked I went chasing all rhenew techiques and tried to create the next big thing for the latest trend of the month. Should have stuck with one path/process I knew worked.

Who cares if the product isn't sexy or gets you invited to the next guru conference - as long as it creates $.

so hypothetically speaking, for a noob, what should I spend money on and what should I not spend money on? I don't want to get caught up in the whole spending a lot to make a lot...I would rather just spend very little, make a very a lot.:D

How can I begin IM with a decent income and how can I avoid mistakes? Is there a good path for this friends?

I was the exact same way, always looking for the next big thing not realizing that tried and true small things, are actually the bread and butter of a consistent IM venture. :)

Hi,

I've been doing this for 3 months. There was one mistake which I did. There were many methods which I created for earning money. I was not aware of it's advantages and was using my old methods everyday untill 2 weeks ago. I lost it. That's hurts believe me. Lets see what kind of new methods I'll discover soon. That hurts......
