Do you ever find that you are applying SEO knowledge to real life and it just doesnt make sense?

yesterday I was watching tv and this celebrity was advertising a hair product, I dont remember what it was, and i thought "she is going to sell a lot of these, she has a high PR so people so she is more believable"

instead of famous or popular I thought high PR

do you have any stories of ridiculous things that you have done?

you're the reincarnation of SEO Steve, aren't you?

Doing things like that is strange somehow?

- If I don't know something, that information is "404." Same goes for if I lose something.

- Funny things are LOL'd at instead of laughed at. This has caused me to get some baffled looks from people who aren't into the internet.

- If I don't want/like something, I say "X!" At least this is close enough to regular speech to be understood...
or get a girlfriend
That wouldn't work. Any mate of mine would be just as "bad." :p

The first rule of Fight Club is don't talk about SEO outside of the internet.

People will just look at you funny..
They'll just have to deal with it. That "IRL" platform they're running on is obsolete anyway.

May be backlinking is somewhat like real life. Imagine 100's of people suddenly saying you are better for this job. That's unnatural ( SB blast).
Only high profile people saying you are good improves your reputation in the class.
lol, link building is like real life PR boost. You do it naturally and slowly or you are screwed.

Best advice yet. It's kinda like telling people you play poker for a living. They'll think you're a degenerate gambler the moment you say that and look down on you.

haha, these things even happens with me. While watching TV and even studying.

I hate it when people think I'm a web designer and try to get me to build sites for them. Thats what my wife calls me, and introduces me as.

But I can't tell them I'm a dirty ****ing spammer, can I?

Haha, I have this same problem. I just tell everyone I'm a marketing executive.
