Actually, I am not using any of the google images or anything. I can design my own. But just curious to know about it.

Just one thing.. Some times it is difficult to make pic for your self...
Can you do one thing that you take the photo and edit it a little ? Will one be safe

Is this only applicable in the US? You can't get sued over copyright laws when you're halfway around the world from the owner right? :O
 
You can be sued at anytime for anything if you think about it. Whether the lawsuit will have merit is another story, but you are still stuck having to, at a very minimum, fight to show that the lawsuit is bogus (if that really is the case), which isn't cheap in and of itself.

Not the greatest selection around but it gets the job done for me more often than not. Watch out that you don't click on the istockphoto ads just above the true search results of the site.

I paid the $35 for a month subscription and spent time downloading as many images in different genres that I needed for sites. I now have a nice cache of images on my computer whenever I need it. If you don't want to do the downloading yourself get a bot created or outsource the work.

Doing things legit is so much easier than violating the law and waiting to be sued!

I think you are correct... Especially if you are on the third world country.

But I am not sure though.

I've read the law about this and it actually depends on how you edit it. You need to edit the pic so much that it doesn't resemble the original at all, otherwise it's still copyright infringement. So if you just mirror-flip it and/or change the color of it, that isn't enough.

What sucks is that the time it takes to edit an image into something completely new and unique is just too much, so buying images is better in the long run. (if you're really that worried about it, that is...)
 
I got this quote from a post from that thread, anyone know more about it? If you have an image on your blog that is a thumbnail and it links back to the source in the same way Google Images does, is there copyright infridgement or not?
