Hi there

I was just trying to create a harmless new post and kept receiving the message "You are trying to post a message that has triggered our moderation system". I had to spend several minutes editing it before eventually finding the offending word.

It would be great if the web page could highlight the offending words in a post when receiving this message. This would greatly speed up the process of re-editing.

Thanks in advance for your consideration.

Yes - unfortunately the idea is that the system blocks the words and phrases used most commonly by brand-new members spamming the site. If the specific words were highlighted, someone could easily scrape a list of the blocked words to get round it which would completely negate the point.

It's a question that crops up but the more your post count increases and the further you move away from newbie / potential spammer status, then restrictions are gradually lifted until 100 posts where you then have the same permissions as the senior members.

Ive been getting this on a recent post Ive been trying to make and I cant for the life of me figure out what is triggering this message

It's a difficult barrier to cross. Once you do though, story time!

No one crosses that barrier. The best way to overcome is by the old fashioned proof method. Prove that you're not just two cent no do gooder seller trying to promote his website or service from the get go. It is annoying, I agree. I remember when I started out I wrote this HUGE (I mean, 600 word) reply to someone asking a question about something but I couldn't post it. So, I had to wait and spend several days getting my post count to 100 keeping everything safe and sound, and then wouldn't you know it, I could write down everything I wanted to.

The 100 count is almost a worthless metric, because the only way you can get those posts in, is by chiming in with simple, often non-contributing comments just to get the post count up. Shit like "I value this post." "Good share." and "Working towards my 100 posts so I can actually contribute with intellectual responses."

I never get this spam trigger, as all my posts are meaningful and helpful to the community.
