Hi,

I am currently setting up the Yoast plugin on my site and i was just wondering when it comes to setting up a meta description for a post page on your site, is it better to use a mini description of what the actual post is about or just use a generic one for all your posts on your site? I am looking at this from an SEO angle.

Thanks

Unique description for each post is your best bet

I usually put a short and unique description for each post... if you don't, Google or other SE will simply pull random snippets from the article.

I use unique yet with most of my keywords in it.And i had better results with it.

youst does not put side wide meta tags, including some important tags. So I use separate plugin for meta data updation.

short keyword and unique description for each post is the best....

i write text that are variants of my main keyword that i am targeting or sometimes use LSI's
