Ok, so I finally decided to start a journey thread. I joined BHW a few months ago, and I have spent most of my time reading and learning new stuff. This place is simply amazing. I have learned so much stuff, mostly for the past 30 days.
So far I have been kind of shy and never posted anything, because I didn't had any knowledge and I was afraid to give my public opinion about anything. Anyway, I have went through enough guides, threads and IM blogs, so that I can start my journey. I wont bother you with who I am, what I was doing so far, or anything. I have learned that people do not care about that on this board, hehe. All I'm saying is that I'm currently 22, living in a poor country, where the average salary is ~$450
My method:
I'm going to build an e-commerce site, and will resell IM services like SEO services, graphic designs, simple website creation. I will start with only SEO services, and then I will move forward, and expand my portfolio. My plan is to make an e-commerce website that appears as professional as possible. I will try to make it as branded as possible, so when any prospect reach my website, they will think it's a big company with many employees, who are professionals and know what they are doing.
In order to achieve that, I will add live-chat support, Skype support, all emails will be answered quickly and with details, nice branded logo, and good looking/simple design. Also I will add a US phone, that when called, people will hear "Hello, you have called brand-name in our non-working hours. Please excuse us. In order to make it up for any inconvenience caused, here is a coupon code for 15% off any further purchase you made through our website [give them an actual coupon code]. Please feel free to email us it [give 3ma1l here], and one of our customer service representatives will answer you shortly. Thanks for your understanding".
In order to achieve good customer satisfaction, I will make DAMN sure I'm reselling the right services (All services will be from BHW).
Technical stuff and SEO:
In order to get more customers, I will try to get some SEO rankings + traffic from related forums (signature) + who knows
I'm going to use Woocommerce premium (paid) theme for my e-commerce. I have already picked one I like, and also bought it already. (Yeah, I know I can get it for free, but cmon - give these guys some credit for their hard work, and also feel safer.)
As far as onpage SEO is concerned, I will write 200-600+ words unique descriptions for all the products. I will try to list as many products as possible in order to rank for multiple longtail keywords. I will also write unique descriptions for each product picture, add alt text and caption (I still don't know what caption works for, anyone care to explain? thx.)
All products will also have linked products (woocommerce is doing this easily for you). For additional inner linking, I will be linking different products in the product's descriptions. Privacy policy, terms of use, refund policy, sitemap, contact, etc. will be also added to gain some more G love. I know that writing unique descriptions for both products and images might take some time, but I want the onpage optimization to be perfect. I will most likely use the SEO plugin by YOAST and fulfill all meta descriptions/titles/etc. in order to further optimize the website. A long article of 700-1000 words will be included in the footer, I don't know if it helps, but I see many people doing it.
Please note that I'm a complete noob when we talk about SEO. I only have some basic knowledge with almost 0 experience, and I'm going to resell SEO services. Crazy, I know! However, these will be SEO services like link pyramids and other stuff. The fact that I'm a noob in SEO doesn't matter that much. I believe what matters is that there is a high demand on these kind of products on the market.
For live-chat I will be using the paid version of Zopim ($14/m per agent). Why? First is because many websites are using it, and people are used with it. Second it offers the possibility to start talking with your prospects automatically - this will improve conversions FOR SURE. Third you can connect it with your Android phone and talk with prospects while you are not in front of your PC.
As far as we are talking about offPage SEO, I still have a lot to learn. In the beginning I will be throwing just a few social signals + building links manually in related blogs + forum signatures in related forums. Before I start, I want to further improve my knowledge on how things work. Pretty much I will be using BHW for anything I don't know, because it's likely that the knowledge I need is already here.
My goal:
I know most other journeys are having a set goal of $XXX/day. Yet, my goal is kinda different.
My goal is to become better at what I am doing. There is plenty of stuff that I still need to learn and put in practice. I'm sure that once I become better and start doing things professionally, money will come by itself. That being said, if you see me doing something wrong, or have any good resources to read - I would love to get some more. I actually love reading about IM, and learning new stuff.
Any criticism will be warmly welcome. I don't mind, really!
Anyway, this thread became much bigger than I first intended. This journey will be updated as frequently as possible, or as soon as I have something of value to say or contribute.
My current task:
Build the website, customize it, upload products, etc.
P.S. I will be writing only in this blue-ish color, so other members can recognize me in this thread. And as any foreigner will state - "sorry for my English, it's not my first language!"
