Has anyone used yext? They seem to be gaining traction in the local seo market. Wondering how they compare to UBL? Any advice appreciated.

I used Yext for one client and it was worth having. The citations that they give you are great since they can only be obtained via Yext. Ask your client to pay for the service.

Its best to do it your own self. If you use either of these services, when you finally get tired of paying them and stop for any reason, all of your business listings revert to the state they were before you hired them.

This means all the citations they created are gone, all the ones they updated will lose their updates, all the ones they verified will loose their "claimed" status, making all that money you spent rent money.

Make them yourself or have someone make them for you that is going to create them, not "manage" them, or plan on paying forever.

Yext is the best local citation service out there that covers the top 50 local search sites. I use them for all of our multi location agency clients. They are way better than the competitors including UBL, Localeze, etc...

I agree with Texan. Do them yourself, so you get to keep all the work. Once you stop paying these guys, you lose the citations. It should be called "rent a citation" service.
