good stuff, I got a few tips from this thread

excel is decent for altering text - it's never the best / quickest tool, but I've never run into something that I can't hack together, and I never really have to think about what can put a problem together.

Once you get the hang of it it's even more helpful as you can put multi-step changes into a sheet - ie remove the line number, add /url/ to the end, make versions of the above with www and no www versions, etc.

just hit the functions button, select text, and look through the functions - the description will normally help you find what you're looking for.
