Yet Another ScrapeBox Thread ... 0.25% Success Rate :(

I know there are a few people claiming 25% or 30% success rate, but I think "success" here is not well defined.

Here's my story. This is how I use ScrapeBox:

1. Everyday, before I start blasting, I harvest proxies within SB. I test them twice and filter out the bad proxies. I'm usually left with 100-200 good proxies.

2. I harvest about 3000 blog posts. I'm left with about 2000 after filtering duplicated.

3. I start posting, with random names, random emails, and short comments (but the not the usual "Hi, nice post!" ... something different).

I usually get about 1000 "successful" post with this. That could be qualified as a 50% success rate.

BUT!

After that, I check for links and out of the 1000 successful comments, usually only 4-5 links are found. So that's about 0.25% success rate from the original 2000 blog posts.

That's a pretty shitty success rate. Especially considering the setup time it takes, the bandwidth, etc... I'd be better off posting manually


Now, I tried several things too:

- using real names vs. anchor text
- using random emails from gmail.com as well as other domain names (not free-email domains)
- several type of comments (short, positive, aggressive, long with spinning, etc...)
- with or without a link in the comment itself
- commenting on blog post related to the website I'm spamming
- commenting for only 1 website vs. 50 websites
- commenting on only 250 posts vs. 50000 posts
- etc...

NOTHING I tested made any difference in the real success rate

What am I doing wrong? Is it all about the proxies? Should I use paid proxies? How many comments can I post before a private proxy will be blacklisted?

Or is it normal to get such a low success rate?

Is it just a matter of commenting on millions of blog to get thousands of links? :tape:

...You're supposed to wait. Most of these blogs have Akismet on them, and so moderators have to manually approve them. So, check back the links in a week and see how many pop up.

I use public proxies from proxygo on this forum and they are good. You've just got to filter them for latency <1000 ms and I find they work very fast. Hmm...maybe I would get a better success rate with private proxies but who knows, I can't afford them.

I've tried the celebrity/news method above, and while the success rate is somewhat higher it's not that high. You've got to spin your comments but even with heavily spun comments it doesn't give you that much of a boost.

A better way is to 'piggyback' spammers. Search for a blog that has already been spammed, run the SB link extractor addon, select only external (outgoing) links, put those links in the harvester with custom footprint as link: , select only yahoo and harvest. Remove duplicate domains and spam. This is the method of kendra / Micallef, though the latter searches manually for quality vs quantity. I think you are looking for kendra's method which gets tons of links quickly. If you spam about 5000 blogs, about a week later you will have 1000 backlinks, in yahoo site explorer.

@jb2008 I think your succes rate wil be higher with good proxys. The botleneck for you isnt the comment itself. Its the filter that gets it out before it even could be moderated. The best comment is useles when its marked as spam because of ip..

For those using private proxies, how many do you have? And what kind of blasts do you do?

Are 10 proxies enough to comment on 5000 posts in a day? Or will they get blacklisted quickly at that rate?



And what kind of success ratio do you get compared to my poor 0.25%?

There are members of this forum that (according to them) are posting to 250k blogs per week with 10 private proxies. Simply dont use for scrapping or for any other use. Just commenting.

For sandbox, every one has his/her opinions. Everything is speculation so do it your way. I have a website that its less than a month old and i have posted to around 30k blogs up to now.

Some of them are of high quality to be honest but i do add content(unique) very frequently. If it gets sandboxed, then it will get out sometime. In any case, i prefer it in the sandbox than in 100th page with no links whatsoever.

So I just purchased 10 proxies from YourPrivateProxy. I did a few tests and I must say I am very disappointed.

The video on ScrapeBox's website showed a huge diffrence without (about 20% "Posted") vs. with proxies (about 80% "Posted").

My own tests show about 40 to 60% "Posted", 1 to 2% links found, WITH PROXIES.

Without proxies I was getting 25 to 50% "Posted, and about 0.25% links found.

I was expecting much better numbers with proxies. I'm not sure it is worth the $30/month.

I will run a few more tests and will report my results again.

You find only a few links because not all blogs are auto approve.

most webmasters approve comments once a week, so the so called .25% success rate must actually be around 4-8% atleast!!

(other comments not being approved instantly but later on)
