[Yet Another Meathead Thread] Souljerr's Journey - I'm Ready

DAY 4 COMMENCEMENT:
My time has been fairly limited these past few days but today is my day off and I don't have any homework until tomorrow, So I will be sure to take advantage of that for at least the next 4 hours.

Today, I must complete the small remainder of what I have left for "Week 2" and then I will begin working towards "Week 3".

Today's Goal:
Complete Week 2.
Complete Week 3.

Stretch Goal:
Complete Week 4.

I've been reading around a bit, and I feel like I may have found some very amazing information on here about how a blog should be structured. I want to adopt some of the techniques used/mentioned in the guide but seeing as the guide is set forth for becoming an authority in your niche, I'm not too sure if I want to apply all of the ideas on the amateur blog as it would take months to properly implement and it wouldn't be a niche that I would be so overly passionate about. I saved the guide for reference and for future projects.

Anyhow, I will talk to you guys soon!

Good luck with your journey mate! Always following this type of threads

Thank you for your kind words goltmung :). I really hope that things pan out that way but one can never be too sure! haha. I wish you the best in all your endeavors as well!

Good luck with your journey mate! Always following this type of threads

Thank you very much eXampL, I hope that one day, it can be used as a thread to help others succeed through their IM journeys; but first, I must succeed as well.

You actually made any sales yet???

Hi Patkaa, I have not made any sales yet using this method, I am currently working on the sales funnel. I personally feel that 80% of your time should be in the planning process. If I can build a great funnel, it can assist me in having a better conversion rate as well as a social signal method of ranking for SEO purposes.

Although, SEO isn't relied on in this method, it doesn't hurt to receive the added benefit of it.

If I can get a self propelling traffic system and a highly converting sales funnel, I won't have to spend as much time on commenting in the long-term future.

DAY 4 END:

Day 4 came to an last night, I am updating the journey now.

I completed "Week 2" although, I feel I might need to revise it a bit and add more pictures.

The information is formatted as such:

? header of sub niche
? small paragraph explaining how it affects the body and resolves the issue
? explain why I think it resolves the issue
? embed video of random tutorial of an exercise within the sub niche
- Current progress and results
- Foreshadow of the information to come in the following "Week"

I will need to implement an email opt-in form on this page but I haven't gotten to that part yet. So far, I am working on the Content. The subscriber phase will be next.

DAY 5 Commencement:

I'm not entirely sure if today will be a workday or not, I have 2 Exams and an assignment that I must complete and then I must go to the lounge. If I can get my exams and my homework done within a reasonable amount of time, I will be able to work on IM at the lounge today.

Nonetheless, The goal of the day is to begin and complete "Week 3" on the Amateur Blog. Stretch goal would be of course to begin and complete "Week 4"

WEEK 3 Plan:

During Week 3, my primary objective is to further educate my visitor on the problem they are experiencing, I plan to provide more exercises here that focus on a different part of the body that associates itself as a reason for discomfort. I plan on using a very similar layout to "Week 2".

Week 3, will present a more detailed analysis of personal results.

Objectives in summary:
Keep the Reader's attention.
Keep the Reader interacting.
Ease the Reader into being persuaded, allow the reader to practically persuade themselves!
Collect more E-Mail's and Social Share signals.

QUESTIONS TO THE READERS:

How would you outsource this method?
What would you like to see in my updates?

**Note** If I do find a way to outsource, I would run 2 projects side-by-side using the same method, one completely outsourced project and one completely hands-on project. I feel it is important to learn how to execute the method properly myself, but I am also not afraid to invest a little bit of money in testing some Outsourcing ideas for the method. For all I know, My outsourcing may be better than my manual work; if it is, I can massively expand my journey.

ALL SUGGESTIONS, RECOMMENDATIONS, and ADVICE ARE ALWAYS WELCOME.

I won't really outsource it yet, I'll wait until the chosen niche starts making money before I multiply my efforts. So assuming you've got this done, I'll just hire someone from the Philippines that can write in English and follow simple directions to do it.

Thank you for your timely reply! I haven't made money with the niche yet but I have a strong feeling that it will be profitable as it isn't a highly competitive niche, only 3% of the U.S. population experiences this issue.

Nonetheless, I can completely agree with your reply. My ideology was to outsource the project into expanding niches. Say work on 1 manually and have another 2-3 projects running in 2-3 different niches in order to get a nice. This way if my primary niche doesn't work all that well, perhaps one of the other 2 will work well.

What's your take on something like that? Yay or nay?

DAY 5 & 6 End:

Okay, so I was a little busy and haven't been able to update the Journey the past few days BUT I have been making progress.

"Week 2" is absolutely finished, and "Week 3" is down to about 3-4 paragraphs until completion.

It's been hard for me to get much done, I'm juggling a little too much at once but I figure as long as I'm making progress, it'll suffice until I can establish a little more free time.

DAY 7 COMMENCEMENT:

WEEK 3 Plan:

So far, for the "Week 3" page, I've decided to release the names of the products that I've been using via 2 Buttons.

I introduce the "Week" in an enthusiastic manner, as though I have been seeing SOME results but have not found complete relief yet. Afterwards, I put 2 red buttons; one that says "(NICHE) Product" and the other that says "(SUB-NICHE) Program"

These buttons will be the links to my Review Site for each product.

I then continued to educate the visitor on more exercises.

Overall, this page gives a BRIEF mention of the products and on the benefits of the BONUS purchase behind one of the products but then continues to educate the visitor as though the product is NOT the core focus of the page.

Objectives in summary:
Keep the Reader's attention.
Keep the Reader interacting.
Ease the Reader into being persuaded, allow the reader to practically persuade themselves!
Collect more E-Mail's and Social Share signals.

DAY 7 End:

I apologize for the delayed updates on this thread, I assure you that I am still working and making progress, albeit slow, it's still happening! Starting on Monday, I am going to take this more seriously. This past week I messed up my nightly routine, which threw off my daily routine but I will be adjusting it to be back on track on Monday. Nonetheless, from now on, I will be waking up in the morning, going to the gym for an hour, and then working on IM for an hour before doing anything else. I still have class work to complete and other work to complete as well but I will make it a priority to get IM work started early in the day.

Thankfully, I only have about 1 week left in my Summer Semester. This will give me an opportunity of approximately 2 weeks of extra free time to focus more on IM.

Let's get to it!

WEEK 3 Page Completion:

Okay, so the Week 3 page has been completed.

As I mentioned before, it shows SOME success and progress in recovering, mentions the product in the form of a button that will be linking to the Review Site, and then continues to educate the visitor. I go on to mention 2 other exercises that the visitor can do in order to relieve their issue. After that, it goes into my current results and progress. I have not yet implemented any email opt-in or social signals yet. I feel that the content is most important at the moment.

Side Thoughts:
After tons of thinking, I am starting to believe that the funnel may in fact be too long. I am still going to continue with it and I am still going to test and analyze it but that is my personal belief as of right now.

Also, I was speaking to Floopa75 the other day on Skype, who is running a similar journey using MeatHead's method and he was telling me about Mass Planner and Inceptions Guide to Mass Planner. Turns out, he just got a sale the other day from FB commenting in groups. I happen to have 400 PVA FB accounts sitting around, 2 years of age, with all of the profile information filled out beautifully. 4-5+ profile pics, book, movies, music, show likes etc.

I could possibly use Mass Planner as a form of obtaining traffic.

On Another note, I also believe that my pattern of thinking may have been a little bit off. Currently, I believe that I am thinking too much on a Micro-Niche Level and that I need to expand it more to a Macro/Broad level. I won't be making any changes just yet, but these are just a few things that have crossed my mind since my last update. The Personal Blog/Amateur Page is most definitely a Micro Niche. The Review Site can be built as a Macro Niche site that discusses the Micro Niche, this will make it easier for me to add product reviews to the site and have more to promote to.

Last thing, I may have found a way to outsource the commenting portion of the work. Indian Bill offers a Forum Mongoose service, I might try it out. One of the packages includes 20 accounts, 250 posts on each account while remaining informative and reputable. This is to be tested a little down the road when I have the pages up and running, I'm just future planning a bit here.

In conclusion, that will be my update for the day. I won't be able to work on my pages today seeing as I have 2 homework assignments, a Test, and work. But I will definitely have tons of free time tomorrow, seeing as it is my day off!

Talk to you soon!

I just love the way you write mate, hope i could write like you. save me enough money

Thank you Darknight21, I just wanted to show you how much I value your support! I appreciate the very kind words, and I hope to be able to produce enough revenue from IM to one day be able to give back to the community and those who have supported me in a substantial way!

If you don't mind me asking, where are you from? and are you just starting out in IM?

DAY 8 End:

This journey is NOT over! I have been a bit overwhelmed with Finals week of my Summer Semester, August 1st, which is tomorrow will be my last day of the semester as I will be finishing up my last exam.

I've been experiencing several difficulties at the Hookah Lounge, leaks and bees, and things of that nature. Fix one thing, and another problem ensues! This also contributes to the delay in my updates.

Nonetheless, I will be using a "New" countdown from now on. It will no longer be "Day 1/2/3/4/5". I've decided to format it in a similar manner as my fitness journey. I will be doing "Week 1/2/3/4/5 - Day 1/2/3/4/5" from here on out. I feel that this further allows me to stay motivated and update on a daily basis. I think that it triggers me to think in shorter term/micro goals, where each week will be tracked for days of completion, which then will move into months, and then eventually years.

After my semester is completed, I will also be putting more effort into how my journey will be updated visually to give an idea of how I intend to "personal brand" my pages.

Also, the journey is going to get a little more complex. I will begin outsourcing a secondary niche while manual working on my current niche to compare results and learn more about the outsourcing project. I will create a code name for each project to make the updates easier to identify while following.

WEEK 4 Page Progress:

Here we go, with the manual project update:

Today, I came up with an idea of ALSO writing a PERSONAL REVIEW on the AMATEUR BLOG that offers a $10 rebate through PayPal via email notification.

I started the post off in excitement over a new found method to relieve my issue and I explained it in detail FIRST with a post to a YouTube video.

Then I created an area, UNDER the starting advice area that will lead into a PERSONAL REVIEW of the product.

After the review, I will continue to give my "CURRENT RESULTS AND PROGRESS" with the journey as to not lose rapport.

This means that I will have to write another 1 or 2 pages of RESULTS pages in order to keep my readers from fleeing from my page. I don't want to lose credibility with my readers when they see the personal review.

Further Adjustments:
I previewed the journey to about 10 friends of mine and I noticed that they would read a page without clicking through to the next one. When I asked them why they didn't click through, most of them said that the link going to the next page looked like it was an advertisement so I got rid of the yellow background and changed it to an orange background.

I got rid of the large red button that said "READ WEEK 1/2/3/4" with a call out area, which is similar to an alert that you might see on a page. I will post a screenshot of what it looks like after the adjustment when I get home in about 1-2 hours. I'm posting this update from my phone right now, and surprisingly enough... I was able to write the majority of my "WEEK 4" update on my phone using the Pages app.

Talk to you in a bit!

Thanks for following!

Call Out.jpg

As promised, Here is a screenshot of the general layout of my "Call Out" or Link to see the following "Journey / Week" page.

I blurred out the text just as a general safety measure of posting on BHW.

I hope it can offer some value to you guys.

Again, Thanks for following! I'll probably have more to update tomorrow for you guys!

If you are going down the road of creating a "personal journey" type of blog then this stuff looks the opposite. It looks and feels like advertisement indeed. It should look more noobish like a mommy blogger did it or just some rando guy who is posting his/her journey. It looks too "nice" in a way.

I don't think it does, the guy is serious about making it work and writes well. There's no reason to be suspicious :p

Karupoiss, thank you for following the journey. I seen that you were working on this same method in the past within the Meathead Thread. I appreciate your feedback on the page, I will most definitely take it into consideration!

I don't want to change an untested model just yet, although I do agree with you about the length of the funnel. I can also see your perspective on the the aesthetics of the personal journey site. I am most definitely able to and willing to simplify the design of the page if it doesn't keep the visitors interacting!

Thank you very much MarketingwithRa, I highly appreciate your kind words. I try to write with as much quality as I can provide with the little time that I have for this project, I believe that the content and aesthetics of both the Journey and the Project itself are highly important before I begin actually marketing it.

Quick Tip:

After further reading into the Meathead Thread and other Meathead Method Journeys here on BHW, I have been able to identify a few things.

Buzzbundle DOES work, but it's actually fairly limited in what it is capable of doing. I see that it is actually very efficient for Social Media and Q&A posts, not so much Blog and Forum posts.

Seeing as my primary traffic focus will initially be Forum based, I had to find another route to find forums.

I've tried both Boardreader.com and Linksearching.com, and they do a fairly decent job at finding forums to post onto BUT the most efficient method I've found has by far been:

"Niche" + Forums, or "Niche" + Message Boards via Google Search. I set my search terms to "Relevance" and "Last 24 Hours" and was able to find an ABUNDANCE of Forums to post to!

Initially, I thought that the niche that I have chosen was too much of a MICRO-NICHE, and this demotivated me a little bit BUT after implementing this search method, I have been reinvigorated to believe in my niche choice.

Now my primary concern is whether or not my Funnel is too long, and whether the sales page for the product converts well enough. I found that the products in my niche ALL have a gravity of less then 6.

This can greatly work in my favor as it will be a GOLDMINE if the products do convert. This is where the testing process will prove to be important. I will need to track CTR and Conversion when it gets to that point.

Journey Update:

Hello Everyone!

I apologize for the delay in updates, I haven't been working much on the pages this past week. I had a friend come back from Military Leave and we played video games all night until the AM, after I closed up the Hookah Lounge, all week. It has become a yearly/bi-yearly tradition when he's in town to commemorate our childhood lol. I've known him since I was in 4th grade, I'm 24 now.

Nonetheless, lets get to the actual update to the Journey now.

While I was researching forums to register to, I came across one of my competitors (this is a GOLDMINE of information). I studied their overall website, Newsletter subscription, incentives, affiliate products, articles, interviews, site structure, etc.

I have come to the conclusion that in order to compete in this market, I WILL have to become an authority Blog or Community on/in the niche. After seeing, the length of time my competitor has been in this niche and how recently they post on forums (I think they're also using Meathead's method), it is safe to determine that this niche is actually profitable and is in fact worth committing to.

with that being said, I will be Scrapping the "Amateur/Journey Blog" page and I will be writing reviews on what will become an authority blog. I think that this will work in my best interest over the long run rather than the personal journey/amateur blog + review site combo.

I know that I said that I wouldn't change anything until the Amateur blog/Personal Journey Page was tested, but I personally feel like this is the right decision to succeed with this niche. I will be committing time to writing relevant articles, and getting interviews with specialists, etc. as content for the blog.

Overall, Basically I will be using advice that t0mmy's instills within all of his started threads + Meathead's genius method as a traffic source that assists me in gaining authority in multiple communities within my niche.

I want to become THE community and THE source of information for my niche.
This is where the hard work will pay off in the long run.

I will be releasing more structured and appealing updates soon. I will be starting on some of the article
writing tonight, and then I will be working on the actual site tomorrow. THIS IS A LONG TERM PROJECT!

T0mmy's Started Threads

Above, will link you to T0mmy's Started Threads Profile Page, I hope you enjoy the reading material.

Also, Another tip to stay focused in IM is to listen to Isochronic Tones.

(Recommended to listen to with Headphones On due to the frequency structure of the audio)
