So, I've been working on this website for the last month+ and it has been on the second page for few days now. Today, it not on the first or ANY page. After checking "site:http://MYSITE.info" the site didn't come up. 2-3 pages from the site, however did come up,but the main page was not there. Does this mean I got sandboxed by Google?

Hello....Well which techniques are you using ?

How many sites does the actual website has, does it have a sitemap installed ? Did you stuff it with keywords ? How high is the keyword density ? How old is the domain, does it have any pr ? Do you have at least some relevant backlinks instead of just using XRUNNER for example ? How strong are your link wheels ?

All this are factors that can influentiate in this cases, if you handled that ok it is perfectly normal that at the beginning you can fluctuate within the search engine and disappear for some time.

Let me know how it turns out or how I can help.

Its a new website, the keyword density is a little bit high, but nothing too dramatic, it doesn't have any PR yet, as it is a new site. I did not use Xrummer or any other automated software...everything was pretty much white hat. It doesn't have a linkwheel, however I did get about 150 links.
It's just that I've never had a site disappear like that. Now sure what happened :(

Hey man, wait a few days before panic.

I have no idea why, but it's happening to more than a few people (me included) that sites get literally deindexed (i.e. site:URL.com shows nothing) for a couple of days and then get back in Google's listings.

It happened to me in the past, i freaked out but after a couple of days my site was back.

I can't ensure this will be your case, but I'm confident and you should be too, everytime.

I just checked GW tools and noticed that my crawl rate went from ~25 average to 150 after i started using twitter for the site. Can this possibly be the reason?

Also, how long does google dance take? (sorry for all these newb questions, but it has never happened to me before)

Were you logged into Google? Did you clear your cache/cookies and change IP before searching the first time? Google personalizes searches, so sites you visit frequently sometime appear much higher than they normally would. Moreover, a searcher's IP address can also have influence over how results are delivered.

My advice is if you have a phone with 3G (iphone, blackberry, et cetera) to type the search on the phone to get a true bearing of where a random visitor might see you in the results.

According to Matt Cutts, Google does not automatically sandbox sites (the sandbox is a myth), because then competitors could build links for their competitors' sites and get them delisted or de-ranked. However, there are filters in place, which can throw a site down if you over-optimize it, which is what some may refer to sandboxing, but these can be easily fixed by changing things around. There are also filters for new domains, which might be your problem.

I don't recommend trying to get past filters (though I know how to, I refuse to try to trick Google). The key to getting top rankings is to deliver great content that people will find useful, don't try to trick the search engines or your potential visitors, and launch that site with a good PR campaign (both print, digital and advertise the hell out of it), and assuming your site is worth the digital ink it's printed on, you'll see yourself in the #1 position in no time assuming you optimize the on-page elements of your site for whatever keyword/category it represents.

I have just had a similar experience. Site was 2nd page and then vanished... completely... looked like it was deindexed. I didn't even have enough time to do anything that COULD get me deindexed! Now, a few days later it seems that a few pages are coming back. Don't understand it... and yes, I did panic!

I can understand dropping but having it disappear completely doesn't make sense???

If there were any copyright violations someone can have the site removed from the index. I did that to someone who was giving my stuff away for free.

I can confirm this. I had several pages of content ranking in the top five for keywords in my niche. A couple of them totally disappeared from the results all together for over a week and I had virtually no earnings off of them for that period of time. I checked for them again today and they were back up where they were and my earnings are back. I am not sure what the reason for this is but it happens. OP - Wait at least a couple weeks before you get worried.

Hmm this is weird as hell. When I go to GA, I can see some hits from my keyword from google; however, it shows as not indexed for me from my or my school's computer. I'll wait a couple more days and see what happens.

Sounds like google pulled out your intestines and made some xbox sausage with them. lol

I hope my recent xrumer blast either completely delists the domain(i hate this particular mofeezler) or puts it @ #1 lol

You have to wait for a weeks and days. May be google is trying to indexing your website and updating your content. And check your indexing pages on some Online Tools
