Has anyone ever shot backlinks to a yelp page? What was the results? How about has anyone ever had a yelp page de-indexed?

My 2 cents - No I haven't done it, however it is no different than any other website in Google's search listings. A URL is a URL and gets ranked with all the same factors as any other one.

I have seen people throw in website links in yelp reviews.. I would imagine a backlink from yelp would be amazing for any type of travel website.

Thought about it, but I would hate to have competition come in and give you fake negative reviews, that would suck. I would rather have control of the website I rank.

If you have an overwhelmingly positive Yelp profile, ranking it probably isn't such a bad idea. It may even be easier than ranking your own site.
As ibmethatswhoib said, there is potential for sabotage on Yelp and you can't control the content so it's not quite as safe of an option.

There are other factors as well - ranking your Yelp profile in the SERPs and ranking in Yelp's list of businesses in any give niche are two different things, and will give varying degrees of results. Though typically positive, if your profile is doing well.

What is so special about Yelp?
For local businesses yelp is a big deal. it doesn't matter if your website is ranking #1 in your local niche, if you have bad yelp reviews you wont get as many customers. So being able to manipulate yelp can be good for you as a local business or for you as a sales pitch to local businesses.

Most definitely.

I'm sure people here are more creative than I am, but it was either 7878 or Leith that originally shared the idea for a review portal that filters the bad reviews and syndicates good reviews to valuable platforms like Yelp or Google+.
Nothing revolutionary but it's definitely a valuable tool.

im looking to build backlinks to my Yelp page
im pretty new to SEO and Link Building etc...
any1 can give me some first step tips?
what software should i use and stuffs.
thanks in advance

Yelp pages were very easy for me to rank. Not sure if it is for everyone just my experience. It's taking tons of back links and hasn't been deindexed just sits right on page one.

It's a great help if you're a local company. Just make sure you have TONS of positive reviews before you jump it up to page one... getting reviews is another battle in itself ha.
