What is you guys experience with traffic from Yahoo? I notice that firefox ( If I remember correctly ) have changed their default internet SE to yahoo....

The reason I ask is because one of my websites is still hovering at the top of the yahoo results for a 500,000 monthly search term and it received not much traffic from yahoo. I understand Google would account for the vast majority of these searches but since the firefox change I would have expected a bit more.

Even tho the default browser was changed google did a hell of a job getting people to change back manually.

I know when I opened firefox and seen that crappy ass yahoo search engine as my default I changed it right away. Its ugly and, well google is the man.

You wont been seeing any good traffic from yahoo for a while.

Yes, I suppose yahoo accounts for very small % of those searches, google really controls the SE users
I think I was at no3 for a while for a .5 million/ month search term... and hardly any traffic.

Anyway that site is sitting around 14 on page 2 of google for the term,
I hope to slowly get it into page 1 and see the traffic come in

I worked for a company that was #1 for a few phrases and got about 75,000 impressions a day from Google (then they got hit with Penguin but, different story). Anyway, they were getting a few thousand visitors a day from the impressions in Google. Bing sent them a few dozen and Yahoo was maybe like 10 on a good day. lol The drop off between Google and Bing was astounding.

Its only google traffic anymore

I dont see how yahoo and bing can claim they have 20% when the fact is they send little or no taffic

Its in googles favor to let these figuers stand
Otherwise they would be admitting a total monopoly of the internet
and people would have to think seriously about limiting their power.

Monopolies are never a good thing, unless you own it.

lol... that's an interesting view on it. But yes the stats I see and what others mention do suggest that 20% is not accurate.

On my top site, 84.31% of my traffic is from Google. The other 15.69% of traffic is split up between Social media (5%) and various other websites (10.46%). And then there's Yahoo, which makes up a whopping 0.23% of the traffic going to that site.

Yahoo loosing their audience everyday. So it's better not to expect number of visitor from dead yahoo

16k+ searches local keyword and ranked #1 in bing and yahoo... Maybe a visitor a day from them combined if I'm fortunate enough.

If this 20% is calculated globally it's hardly surprising - Yahoo is the top search engine in China, followed by Baidu.

However 500000 searches means 500000 in Google, you never know about Yahoo, it's a different demographic.

The Bing ads tool has never lied to me, though.

I think Yahoo and Bing are in one network. So you should not underestimate the value and size of their network.

Not at all.well Its only google traffic anymore now even I dont see how yahoo and bing can claim they have 30% when reality is that they send less or not a single taffic

They changed my default browser too, without my consent. As I'm sure happened to a lot of people.

However, I'm sure most people were smart enough to change it back to Google or at least change their default search to Google. Better results from google anyway.

Google traffic is definitely more superior (organic and paid)and your return on efforts on google will probably be higher than on Yahoo. Also, if you are an adsense site, you can greatly benefit from ad synergies through Gmail, Youtube and other google-related platforms.

I never use yahoo for a search engine anymore. I do not like how it looks to me. I would much rather use google, as I have been using it for awhile now.
