Ok, so you have to pay $299 to submit your site to Yahoos directory....is it worth it? Then $299 a year to keep it there IF they accept it. Are there benefits? Will google like your site more if it is included in yahoos directory??

Used to work pretty well years ago, but really no value now (especially for $299). Use that money to build backlinks from quality sites instead.

If you know the process how you can utilize the option then you should obviously carry on doing this.
If you can not do that then it would be a huge loss.

It;s not as good as it used to be, although it will confirm to search engines that you are a real business

Like others said, few years back it would have been hella worth it ...specially for that cost. But not anymore.

Try to find expired domains listed there and do a 301 redirect to your money site. You will save a lot.

I second that. If you can get a domain that is already in there then do it but there is no directory that is worth $299.

Like everyone said, it was worth it 2 - 5 years ago, use the money and build some backlinks and improve your PR.

i dont see how inclusion in this directory will list your site as a "real business" in the eyes of google, lol.... So all others not included are fake?

I would love to know how many people are still paying to get listed. I havent did it since 99. I dont think their directory gets much traffic anymore. At least, not anywhere what it used to. Pre google days it was worth it.

No no and no, today we can find better links and directories list, remember Yahoo some 4 or 5 years before was amazing, today Google is literally eating Yahoo per complete!!! It is not a good idea!
