The business I work for had their website listed on the yahoo canada business directory and now its coming up for renewal. Is it worth the money, it only has a PA according to seomoz of 1 but a DA of 100 because of course its yahoo.

Advice?

My opinion, in the vernacular, is Hell to the No. I don't know what you mean by "DA" and "PA", but I made the mistake of signing up for Yahoo's Business Directory (US) and spent months watching money being taken from my account and finding absolutely nothing of value being gained. I couldn't get the listing to properly publish, never saw the backlink on any tool, never ranked well in Yahoo for any of my kw searches, never could find a way to cancel the "service", couldn't find a phone number to Yahoo to talk to anyone about why I got nothing for my money or how I could cancel.

Finally, I went to the bank and cancelled the charge that way. I'm considering filing a dispute for months worth of charges based on the premise that I was promised I would get "something" and in fact I got nothing at all, relative to what I would have gotten had I just done the free listing.

I'm finding i'm getting those exact same results, nothing. I was curious as to whether there was some "authoritative" effect because of the fact they have a Domain Authority (DA) of 100 yet the Page Authority (PA) is only 1. Also considering there is a citation we receive from that site which supposedly helps in local rankings. That experience sounds like a real pain. Perhaps you could get a nice windfall if you sue yahoo.

It is good value if your company is a big one, if it is small then it is not worth it.

I suppose it really depends on your competition right? If you want to be ranked number 1 for a tough local term and your competition has this link, it may just be giving them the edge. Other than that I wouldn't waste the money
