Yahoo Contributor Network - Closing for good.

I know this is probably not the right place, but since this section was a host for an extremely popular money making method posted by asap1 that was about Yahoo Contributor Network, I thought people will want to see the consequences. And just like every decent method, it got spammed to death. So this is coming straight from YCN:

Dear Contributors, You made the past nine years incredible. At Yahoo, we're focused on making daily habits more inspiring and entertaining. That means we're constantly reviewing our products and experiences and, in some cases, we have to make tough decisions to no longer support a product. As part of our ongoing effort to sharpen our focus, on July 31, 2014, Voices.Yahoo.com will be shut down; on August 15, we will make the final Performance Payment before Contributor.Yahoo.com closes. With the exception of content you provided to Yahoo under a work for hire license, or unless Yahoo arranges differently with you, we will remove from Yahoo all content published through Yahoo Contributor Network and rights for all of your Yahoo Contributor Network content will revert to you.
We know you have a lot of questions. Please refer to this FAQ for details.

yes indeed, thanks to your method people made money with yahoo. sadly enough it's over now

I was using it too,thanks asap1 for your share,from that method I've made some money to invest in other things
BTW,it's pitty,that was really easy way of earning and the only method that worked for me yet

I received it also but never read it. Just thought it was one of those daily news letters but oh well good thing i didn't put my time into it

Really sad. Really, really sad. We killed it. At least, I assume we did. Got $27 out of it. Another source of income, GONE. WTG, Yahoo. Way to fail to properly monitor the content. All they had to do was put a cap on the amount of submissions per account.

Was a good method I made some good money with it.

[h=1]Yahoo Voices and Contributor Network Shutting Down[/h]Contributor who have worked with Yahoo voices, and submitted through the Yahoo Contributor Network received a startling email this afternoon. The network where everyday readers had a voice is shutting down officially July 31, 2014. The company stated in the email they are looking to sharpen their focus, and that will require voices.yahoo.com to shut down. Yahoo will be removing all content, establishing the rights of the articles back to the writers. No new submissions will be accepted starting July 2nd. With readers as writers, much criticism has been aimed at the Yahoo Voices network from technical mainstream writers.
For those who participated in the network, they are dismayed at the news. It was a supplemental platform to share a voice, and even earn a few dollars based on clicks to the article. Many contributors saw their byline on Yahoo Shine, Sports, Finance and more by submitting their news worthy content.
Yahoo has not announced if they will be entering a more mainstream style of writing, including hiring their own writers. The email many received will reflect the one below. The email advised users to check the FAQ for more information. Are you sad to see the end of the Yahoo Contributor Network?

I probably didn't help when I slammed them up with 78 articles that were all scraped and poorly rewritten through a lazy script. Oh well, they say if you barricade the road to mediocrity then nobody has any choice but excellence.

EDIT: Ok, I realized that post was totally unhelpful after I reread it, so I'll throw an idea out there. If enough people from BHW get together ( in "Joint Ventures" probably) to form their own writing service, then I'll volunteer my time to helping create a site with everyone. After all, like I said, I probably didn't help things at all when I abused yahoo's network which might have played a role in your loss, it's the least I could offer in return. Besides, I really enjoy all of this stuff so it's time well spent in my opinion. I'll start a thread in "Joint Ventures" if anyone is interested.

EDIT2: Nevermind, I need 50 posts haha, the offer is still on however. If anyone wants to pm me I'm going to start working on some ideas for a site. I'm actually getting excited about this, so good riddance to yahoo.

Yep yahoo could have kept it going if they wanted to, but they didn't want to put the time in

Yahoo always shuts down stuff as their management are a bunch of morons. I seriously doubt the method posted on here anything to do with it. There are steps they could have taken to keep it alive and working well for the non spammers etc but they choose not to which tells me there was no money in it for them.

Damn, this is why aliens won't talk to us!

And I was so close to making dollars, I had few articles saved for a future that is never going to come. At least not on Yahoo.

Actually, I think that that thread helped a lot. As someone wrote earlier in this thread, Yahoo could just set a limit to daily articles but I'm sure that wouldn't had solved the problem anyway. That thread got extremely popular and a lot of people tried it with broken english and horribly spun articles. Even setting the limit on available articles would not have been a permanent solution, because a lot of people would have created multiple accounts to avoid that limit. I think that yahoo just got pissed off by spun content and decided to shut down the service instead of hiring more editors and that's what I would have done in their place. Maybe you can clarify some of the steps they could have taken to avoid that as you mentioned? Just curious

Also, I had made 18 dollars out of this... Too bad I had to finish my degree by the time the thread went live and jumped in too late, but atleast I know that the quality of my articles was good enough for yahoo, even when they started rejecting unique articles . That's good to know I guess.

As discussed in another posting of this news, some folks paid up to $500 for links on yahoo voices.
