How to promote a website on Yahoo and Bing? Who can recommend any books? Many thanks!

there are couple of threads here with tips & tricks about how to rank at Y and B.. just use the search form

Aliceyy,

For the most part many SEO activities will be the same. I wouldn't worry so much about yahoo but Bing does have a substantial share of the market. You could submit your site to Bing webmaster tools to start.

Here are some other tips but many are the same as for ranking on Google,

I've had much success with the old type of link building tactics that Google is moving away from/filtering for. Another good note about Bing-hoo is that traffic converts better for me than Google. At least it has on the verticals I've targeted.

Thanks for sharing information,Any more exact information would be useful

Actually,I have experienced that my site got penalty by gg,then I continue to build backlinks for that site//After several days..the site ranked on bing..

In my opinion, it's a waste of time to focus on yahoo and bing. They barely receive market share for search.

Thanks for he great advice. I personally think it would be good to add you site to Bing as with the new windows 8 its very clear on your startup menu and not everyone moves these things.

Mostly people only focus on Google and not work other search engines but if you will work on other search engine like ask, bing, yahoo then your keyword ranking will be increase very soon. So work on many search engine as much as you can it will provide you best results.

This may be true, but you can still find long tail keywords that get 20k-500k+ searches a month at bing-hoo. This is really what matters for most.

For a great book on SEO, get The Art of SEO by O'Reilly. Highly recommended.

I've seen several profs online recently that Bing scrapes Google's results. With that in mind better focus on your presence in Google, and Bing and Yahoo will follow. It might also depend on a project, but it's the case of all my sites that there's tiny traffic from Bing and Yahoo, though I rank equally well there for the same keywords I rank for in Google. It's just that my customers don't use Bing and Yahoo to search for my site. Are you sure yours will?

There are lot of e-books available for online reading either in PDF format or text about Yahoo and Bing SEO. The best ebook I found yet is "SEO Made Easy by Brad Callen" which you can get absolutely for free.

Check out this book:

You could also read the sticky threads in the Black Hat SEO and White Hat SEO section here at the forum since they have got some really cool information as well.

We must not despise Bing, I have two sites with good traffic and positioned, only needs to analyze the competition.

In my experience, I have found that most of my sites get ranked in bing and yahoo long before seeing any kind of ranking in google. I don't know if it has any affect on my google rankings or not but, I have noticed that after receiving traffic from bing hoo, it isn't long until I begin receiving traffic from the big G. Anyone else experience this?
