Obviously, just being able to rank with Yahoo or Bing has absolutely no bearing with ranking on Google. However, I am confused in how a page could hit page 1 for two search engines and not even get in the top 200 for Google.

I confirmed that the article in question is in the Google index. Also, I'm not aware of any major crawl issues or penalties applied to the site (using Google Webmaster Tools)

Not to answer my own question here, but I assume the difference is that Google does not value the backlinks I have and/or the content of the article that's ranking. This seems like the clear answer, but I need to extrapolate on that in order to achieve the desired result.

I'm not going to pose this as a "please help me" but more of a have you encountered this before and what strategy did you use to overcome it? My current course of action is to just keep building backlinks and hope that something starts to stick.

when i stated this summer with my websites i had seen the same. yahoo top - google nothing.
i think google is unprdictable on the beginning but it gets better with the time. i had - and still have pages which dont rank at google and they are done the same way as others which rank ok. no difference in competition.

its actually the opposite for me, i have a top 3 ranking for some keywords in google, but yahoo and bing seem to be doing their own thing when evaluating my site.

most of my link building are from BTB's link pushing service and blast with AMR and scrapebox.

but like u said i thinks its just a difference in the algorithm between the search engines.

They have different Algorithm so basically you will get different result from them. I usually Aim to rank high in google and all my SEO efforts is intended for google, I also get good result from bing and yahoo. So for example, I rank #1 or #2 in google for a certain keyword, I will probably rank #7 to #20 in yahoo and bing. In some cases, #rank 1 in google, and I will also ranked #1 in bing and yahoo.

Sometime for some reason, My sites drops from google to page 3-5 but the ranking in yahoo and bing will stay the same in page 1.

I guess what you have to do is continue what you are doing in term of SEO and I'm sure both search engine will improve eventually.

It's a mixed bag. I have sites that go both ways. Some rank high in one but not the other and vice versa. Only one I care about is Google though since I get so little traffic from the other 2.

Really hard to say what the different factors are between them but I'm noticing my sites have been all over the map lately in Google and ranking for some of them is taking ridiculously long. Also noticing that one week I'm ranking well and next week I'm bounced out. Some just back to previous rankings and others to 250-500+. Not sure what's going on over at google.

Lol Yes! In one of my Niche, The page one in google is so ridiculous that 6 out of the ten result took turn to be in number 1 spot in just one month.

It's probably the panda but its so insane that the number one spot in serp will change every couple of days or so.. It's like google is doing a trial and error until it finds out what site deserves to be in rank#1
