Is Yahoo Answers still good for backlinks and link building or has it lost its value since the newest panda update?

You will not be able to post links unless you have a level 2 account I think. Maybe someone else can chime in?

If you want to spend the time "hoping" that your "answer" doesn't get flagged/reported..and then having to "dispute" the legality of your answer conforming to their (Yahoo!) shi**y TOS'...

Then yeah...it's all good!

Personally...I'm tired of wasting time posting to YA w/my level 3 account(s), and then having about 3 out of 10 get 'reported' and then arguing w/Yahoo that I was merely 'sharing what I know', which is funny because that's what the whole site is based around!

And the way I do things is:

answer 10 questions per day
7 are very informative and DO NOT include links
3 are informative, straight to the point and link back to articles I've uploaded over the months to various directories..and it's these answers that get flagged ALL THE FRICKING TIME!

Unless you have one of the few good YA account creation/posting pieces of software and can afford to see 10% to 30% of your posts get flagged, while the other 70% to 90% go through...by all means go for it!

Of course, this is MY opinion...so your mileage will vary! :D

I've been using Yahoo answers assault software for a few weeks now.

Its definately a goldmine for targeted traffic. But i agree with h20boy , They suspend accounts for stupid reasons but so far so good.

I'm assigning one city to each account i have as i'm using HMA PRO VPN and it seems to work well :)

I've been using it for my sites and my answers keep getting selected as best answers :D i'm planning on using Answer Assault soon though to set up my own questions so hopefully they turn up on Google when people search for my keywords... :D

Yahoo Answers is still relevant, but like some of the others have said, you are going to have a struggle when it comes to your accounts being banned for spamming.

Yahoo answers only helps for Traffic, I got some unique visitors from yahoo answers.

Its good to get organic traffic but the links are nofoolow..

Yep, good for traffic. (if you do it right)
Also, there are a lot of sites scraping content from Yahoo Answers so it may be good exposure for your links as well (although most scrapers choose to nofollow links in question/answer or remove them completely).

They are no follow but it is EXCELLENT for spamming if you have a business or product you are selling.

You have to do it right though, otherwise you'll get banned sooner or later.

The trick is slow and steady and making new accounts every so often.

yahoo answers also rank good in google so more traffic there.

When you mean no follow,it means it doesn't count for getting good Page Rank if I use the url of my homepage for example http://www.mysite.com

Yahoo answers are great for generating some traffic to offers. I recommend you still do it and just find popular news and monetize on it with yahoo answers
