Yahoo Answers & Proxies

Geez. I was just trying to play around on Yahoo Answers. I tried connecting through some proxy websites (ie: proxify)...didn't work.

Then I tried answering a question using TOR...wouldn't even allow me to sign on.

Then I tried using a proxy list and entering a few of them into my proxy settings...again, could sign on, but couldn't answer any questions.

How do you DO this?

Use automated software LOL.

No serious, I use TOR for it all the time and that works without any problems.
TOR is slow within the first 5 minutes, after that it will take about 3 seconds to change your IP.

Yes, I tried TOR and Yahoo Answers would not let me log in with it. It might have made my IP look like it was in the UK or something which I suppose could have been the problem if I created the account in U.S..

I also could not sign in using proxies.

Anyone else have these issues?

It doesn't matter from where you signed up and from where you are coming.
I''m doing the same thing and I can sign in.

Hope someone else has an idea.

Hmm....ok. I will try again later when I get home from my J-O-B.

It's possible that it could be a PEBCAC.

The only thing I can think of causing this is cookies being blocked.

OK, I'm about to put my fist through this monitor. I just tried to access Yahoo Answers again. This time, I used a brand new ID. I switched on TOR, got all the way to the point where I submit the answer with my hoplink enclosed, then I got an error 999...cannot process your request at this time.

I tried going in through Yahoo Canada (not my local Yahoo) and got the same message. I switched off TOR and tried using a few proxies. Same answer.

Try not using any proxies at all or if you do use proxies enable javascript and cookies. I've been warned on Yahoo Answers, but never banned for any of my usernames. Worse case scenario try posting relevant answers and include your link in your answers or source.

What is this TOR tool you guys are talking about? Something to automate Yahoo answers posting ?

ToR is The Onion Router, a proxy program which you download to your desktop.

For Montyz, I think Yahoo blocks your hoplink URL, redirect it through your site and it should work like a charm.

Search TOR in g**gle. It creates a virtual link through someone else's pc to the outside world. It hides your identity.

It's not that hard. If you find this helpful please hit the Rep button. I will give you a bit of advice here. This only applies to the US. Since I live here I don't know how well it will work. If your doing anything shady and from the US, be it Myspace, Yahoo Answers, whatever then get yourself a Wireless Air Card.

yahoo is notoriously slow, ive always dreaded prpomting on answers, plus my traffic from ya isnt alot.

I know a software which has automated yahoo answer stuff.

That should solve your requirement with yahoo answers.
Am not sure whether any cracked version is available for this.

I've read through the threads talking about Michel's software, and I have say that I'm kinda bugged by it. You don't need proxies, and in the time I've used YA, I've used just a set plan and Firefox, and done very well with it. YA doesn't allow you to post too many Answers too fast, so I don't understand the need for a program, either. And Yahoo will probably put the kibosh on this software soon, if they haven't already.

I know that I may get flamed for this, and I definitely didn't want to sway this thread, but I've read Ruck's free guide on Answers a few days ago, and it's great. I wrote a book on Yahoo Answers about two months ago that has gotten great reviews on DP over the last few weeks. I honestly believe that my book and Ruck's book are all you need. I really don't see how Michel's software can make the process easier and faster than what I've outlined in my book.

Please don't think that I'm trashing Michel. I just think that $200 is a bit pricey. You can already do all these things in Answers itself for free, and it really doesn't save time. Heck you can have all of your niche questions sorted and delivered to you through RSS in Answers daily (I talk about that in my book). I could see it if the software cost $30 or $40, but $200? Too steep.

I'd leave this software alone. I DL'd a copy of Stealth Advertiser, after reading a iidea on Eli's blog, and it was crap. Slowed my machine down to a crawl, and it took forever to manually uninstall the crap it put on. Just a warning to all.
