Hi guys,

I'm not much of an offpage SEO guy (I outsource). I had a question about Yahoo Answers and how it helps ranking/SEO.

What tier is YA typically considered and can 5-10 posts per day help SEO drastically? I don't want to be wasting my time if it doesn't do much for SEO. The traffic from it is trivial right now.

Thanks

It's part of an overall IM campaign and shouldn't be the main focus.

Thanks for the tips. I'll try to keep up 5-10 per day in that case.

i'm not sure about seo but ya give targetted visitor.

In terms of SEO, it won't help much...but it can bring targeted visitors to your site. It could be lots of visitors, depending on the niche and how active you are.

Yahoo answers has proven results for targeted traffic. Use your answers wisely and ideal situation is when you're on level 2+ and your answer is selected as best answer.

Yahoo Answers is a most popular forum. When we give a answer on yahoo answers, we can place link on source. So if we give answer of relevant product or service, it may give us direct traffic or customer to our site. But when we place our link, we should strong aware. Because if we place our link on source again and again we will be band.

Yahoo is for traffic, Goole discounts all but the first 3 links or so that you get from any domain. The first 3 count, the rest are valueless for SEO.

But it s really good for targeted traffic.

I'll keep that in mind, then :)

I learn a lot everyday here. Thank goodness for you guys..

should we blast them like a 2.0? build links to them? or leave them as they are? thanks! :)

i would say that links posted on yahoo answers have given my site targeted traffic as i am promoting CPA. i took it to another level and got a little bot from fiverr.

This is a question that was asked a while ago and never got an answer:

If you are Level 2 on Yahoo Answers, any answer that contains a link to a newly-registered domain or to a subdomain of blogspot, wordpress, etc. will be "ghosted" (ie, no one else can see the answer).

Does this stop after you reach a higher level?

I have found this thread in search for answers.

Is this true? Any source for this "ghosted" part?

I haven't known this to be true. In fact, I don't think that it is. I had a bunch of my posts reported on Yahoo Answers because they were considered spammy (some self-righteous prick who thinks the product is immoral or whatever).

Okay so long as you're at level 2, the links will show, correct?

Personally I tested out yahoo answers awhile back. Did a few questions, answered them and rated myself the best answer and left it at that. It is only when I lost Google rank that I noticed I was actually getting a few 100 visitors a day across several sites from this. May have to do it again. Oh and when I say a few questions... I mean like 5. So it was worth the 20 minutes that it took.

Also, I own Answer Assault and to be quite honest it is so slow that it is easier to do them manually using Tor or a VPN.

I have observed that when i post using level 3 accounts it will give me better result compare to level 2

Ghosting in yahoo answers is definitely true and happening. especially if you put 2 or more links in your answer or source. I think another factor that trigger this ghosting is the pace you are answering questions with the same links/source.
