I hope this works out. Yahoo loves everything Google hates.

I don't know how much impact it will have as people are dropping ff like crazy and switching to chrome because it crashes so much.

i hope google gets some real competition !

I'm assuming the option to change the search engine of the search bar will still be there? If so, that will offset some of it but still, there could well be a boost. I hope it's the start of a swing away from G, nothing against them but where there is change, there is opportunity for IMers. That might be still premature though.

Good for them but I don't think it will have any major impact on peoples actual preference.

Poor browser plus a third rate search engine :p ... what do you think is gonna happen?

firefox uses memory like crazy its one of the worst web browsers/

Worst & popular do not correlate. Just look at Chrome, it is as slow as Firefox, uses memory like crazy and tracks your activities. Still people keep using it, because advertisement on the local bus cant lie.

Not many people still know that there is an in browser search with a default search engine. Many still type in google.com in address bar and then search for what they want.

yea, this was discussed before, but why does the above article refer to firefox as the third browser by market share, when in fact it's the second?

What browser do you use?

I think if they really use yahoo in the future the market share of firefox will drop drastically.

I beg to difer. I use an autosurfer on a cheap VPS to get point for social media bookmarks. I've used several browsers, firefox is the only one that never crashes.

It probably depends on OS and version of browser and what its been using for, I've found opera and firefox to crash alot more than chrome.

firefox is still far the best browser

however i don't think so people will be very happy by this change :D

though still can be some boost

Old news and won't disrupt things really much. FF sucks anyways now just like opera. I used to love opera until they switched to the Chrome engine. Now I just use chrome and do not care whether google tracks all my stuff as all the other browsers have become a PITA.
