Yup thanks to all the idiots that got VPS accounts and were to cheap to purchase proxies. They were running Xrummer and SB on the open XSServer ip that came with their account and getting all of them listed on SPAMHAUS.
What I can't figure out is how XSServer is going to clean all those IPs. I imagine many accounts will inherit tainted ips from previous subscribers and new subscribers will be on the hook.
Also I recognized SPAMHAUS as a spam authority but when did stopforumspam become any sort of authority? They are just running the BBB business model. Any IP can get listed on there for any reason. Even their own FAQ says just because your IP is listed doesn't mean you've been spamming.

What is strange if this is a joke is I received similar emails from other VPS providers. Um, very strange. Such as:

Any kind of network scanning tools including proxy finders / checkers will no longer be allowed also. For the moment all VPS's found to have software of this kind found on them will be shut down. I received it too. Looks like I'll be spending a few hours cleaning up my server and looking for a replacement.
A big pain in the ass for what was likely caused by people too cheap of uninformed to use some proxies.

Yup I too am on the xxserver ban bandwagon receving the smae email.
I once got a slapped hand for running sb for months with no proxies and had to get the ip changed but since used proxies after that but I have been 'going commando' with xrumer since i got it on there.
as jb said they must be kidding as they are gonna bnakrupt themselves by banning their whole customer base
Pretty naive of them to say that they should instead should have said theyll take precautions to stop this for a bit extra.
I think everyone here agrees xsserver was good cos they were spam friendly and now they are crying over spilt milk.
They should support their main customer base and setup workarounds, but up to them i guess. their loss and all.

Yes, I agree with ranko, they should realise that most of their customers ie 90%+ are blackhatters and tried their best to keep their business alive. Maybe the dudes at xsserver are happy with their takings and don't want to risk any legal hotwater or whatever.
I'm just curious how the dude (read: dude, one guy) at hostamus is going to deal with it as his servers are in France and people from BHW start to royally rape his IP addresses.
I'm hoping for a good 6 months at least of nice uninterrupted service from Hostamus before that goes down. At that point, I would just use a generic VPS and only post via VPN.
Beyond that, nothing would force me to use Xrumer with a proxy, public or private. Nothing. Success rate not worth it.
