These are questions coming from a complete newbie.

1. how do you actually install xrumer on a vps or dedi server? what program do you use to control the software from you pc?

2. how many links per min can you get using the smallest dedicated package at xsserver.eu?

3. what is the best guide or tutorial to learn to use the xrumer? I've heard about xrumer unleashed and xrumer explotion? which one do you recommend?

1. Windows. Go to Start. Search for Remote Desktop. Open it, type in IP, username and password.

2. I have never had VPS on xsserver.eu, but you can probably expect around 100/min. Bear in mind that 100 includes successful and unsuccessful attempts.
Edit: just saw you asked about dedicated server... I don't have a clue. I use spamahost.

3. Read manual and google is all you need to learn the basics. Just need to put in like 1-2 weeks of effort into it.

1) use RDP
2) i used to get easily 700 links/pm on there dedi a few months back

Intel Xeon X3330 4X2.66 GHZ
Quad Core
1000 GB Hard Drive
8 GB DDR2 RAM
5000 GB Monthly Transfer <<< Might wanna get abit more Bandwidth
100mbit Uplink
2 IPs

Other than that it looks good

depends on your host. If they allow xrumer then u dont need proxies, otherwise they will ban you in an instant.

but I've read your ip could be blacklisted? shouldn't I still use proxies in a dedi server?

VPS on xsserver.eu, I made this mistake. Advertised bandwidth you will never see. Copy and paste can use too much CPU and crash your server and they will blame you for it. At least 50% down time and don't try to contact them after hours, weekends or holiday. I terminated my relationship with them.
