XRumer on a local machine

I'd like to know how realistic it is to run xrumer on a local machine.
I need at least 250K backlinks that stick a month from it to justify spending the 1K for this setup. I'm planning to buy a dedicated PC for it & let it run for as long as it has to. I know I'm not gonna get enough in the beginning, but once I have a large list of forums, guestbooks & etc that work, I think I should be fine. I'm not worried about learning the soft, I have a techy backround as well as some basic programming skills.

I have SB now, and while it's great, it's not powerful enough & doesn't have enough variety of created backlinks.

Any advice?

I would also like to know the answer to this as well. Standard Cable connection with 15GB download and 1.5GB upload. Thanks

May be you can combine with someone and buy it

I've used it on a local machine with a optical fiber 100mb connection, no problems at all.. although I didn't max it out just did a couple of small campaigns.

Run not 1 big blast.
Run everyday few blasts for few projects and continue to do it everyday.
Buy private proxy.

your biggest problem is going to be your bandwith.
I can easily use 30mbp/s..
the more Ram/CPU the faster xrumer can post.

You need to use proxies if you are going to be doing crazy from your home IP. Proxies will slow you down a Lot.

Why not just spend 150$ a month on a dedi?

Yes xrumer can run on a local machine, but why buy a separate pc for xrumer? If you want to run it from a pc just do it from your current pc/computer. You should use proxies though

Xrumer will run slower on a local machine than if you were to rent a dedicate server or vps because of ISP speed.

Can't justify the cost versus what it brings.

I'm thinking an I3 with 8gig RAM should be enough, right?
Do you have any idea of ratio upload/download?

What you really should be concerned about will be internet speed and proxies.

On my dedi I have a 100mbp/s port.
I will generally use 80% of that when posting..

Good luck finding an ISP that will give you that bandwith. The closest thing is going to be fiber optic from Verizon FIOS.
And they only offer it in the north east last time I checked..

get a dedi ,your isp will be really pissed.also its good to have it on offshore dedi server where u can connect from any place,,you can have your sb on dedi too...

i am using a stond alone computer, no problems here.

How many monthly links do you get in average?

Use I7 or Quadcore processors if you want to unlock the real potential.

I think the question as to if it is feasible to self-host or not really comes down to how you want/plan to use the software. If your opening an xrumer service or if you are trying to do huge fast blasts then a dedicated server is the way to go. At this point you are either making money off of the tons of sites you are promoting or you are making money selling your xrumer service. So the cost of the dedicated server is just another scalable expense as your business grows.

However, if you are only operating 5, 10 or 15 micro-niche sites, why not host yourself? Do you really need your 20k blast to finish in one day? I don?t know about you, but I don?t have time to constantly be scraping, lists cleaning lists, and babysitting my linkbuilding software. One of the advantages to me in using software with the ability to queue tasks is that I can dedicate 1 week a month to preparing a months worth of the software?s work. This frees up 3 weeks a month you can dedicate to direct revenue generating activities, such as, researching new niche?s, writing squeeze pages or money pages. Not to mention building other link types that require a little more attention like web2.0 linkwheels etc.

Please tell me if my logic is flawed, but I don?t see anything wrong with running 50-100 threads on a local connection over the course of a month, as opposed to blasting it all at once if your just trying to get some link juice for your own projects and your not sitting on a large portfolio.

I say work within your budget and scale your business with your budget.

I actually already have the setup & it gives me about 10K links a day & for now I'm happy with it & the price was worth it.
