Xrumer Getting Into Private Forums?

Hi guys. I have a question about Xrumer. I'm a member of a private forum, on that forum every user requires activation by an Admin and the Admins only activate people they know personally. But somehow Xrumer has been registering profiles and posting on the forums. Is it normal that Xrumer can bypass Admin approval? Is there any way to fix this?

My understanding is that the forum uses PhpBB version 3.0.5, and the newest version is 3.0.7-PL1. Is it likely that the old version has a security flaw and needs to be updated? Is there anything else that could be causing the problem?

Thanks for any help. I'm not the forum owner, but I'm trying to find some information for him.
