now that google has removed the fetching tool, do u have to manually submit a sitemap each time to see the effects of your changes? If not is there another way to see instant changes
Bots will check robots.txt to find the path to your sitemap. If is there, it will be fetched and all urls put in queue for crawling (theoretically). So there is no need to submit your sitemap each time you do changes. Instant indexing depends on your website. For example BHW is indexed almost instantly.
You should really only submit your sitemap once and Google will automatically recrawl it when they think it's necessary.
Instead of resubmitting, you can ping Google with your sitemap's URL to request them to recrawl it. Use this URL (replace the relevant part with your sitemap's URL) https://www.google.com/ping?sitemap=URL/of/file
Sitemap needs to be submitted once. You can cross verify into google search console if it get updated automatically (that happen most off the time), otherwise you can resubmit.
You need to submit your sitemap once and Google has restricted access since Oct 14th to manually submit in GSC as they are working on a technical update. However, Google bot will auto crawl in its own pace to retrieve
