X mentioned you in the post

So here's the thing. A notification on my Linkedin appeared that someone mentioned me in the post. Opening up the post, there is no mention of my profile. How does one do that?

One thing to note is that the post was created 12 hours ago, and I got the notification 6 hours ago.

As soon as someone mentions you in their post, you will instantly receive a notification. However, after that if they edit their post and remove your mention in that post, you will not see your mention in that post, altough you initially received a notification for the same.

It's likely that the post that mentioned you made an edit after the post was made then edited it again to remove the mention from the post. Haven't tested it out if you still receive a notification after that but it's worth looking into.

Side note, I remember at some point in FB, the same thing would happen but it turns out, you need to go to the "Community" tab on your page to see the actual mention.

If you edit the post with new mention will he receive a notification?
