Did anybody else watch the latest JRE with Elon Musk?

I sure did, and what caught my attention mainly was Elon mentioned that they will be releasing "X Chat" early next year, probably Q1.

He said it is going to be basically Telegram/Whatsapp, without hooks for ads, without the safety risks. He mentioned that they will be using blockchain tech similar to bitcoin to ensure privacy.

This is going to be a standalone app according to Grok, I wonder if Telegram will continue to exist to the extent it does now, once X Chat is released.

Anyone got a better understanding of it who could explain it better? Really fascinating stuff. I am definately excited to try it out.

You have to be specific wen you are mentioning "safety risks". In that case, you would have to see what safety risks comes with Whatsapp and then compare it to what Elon is offering. If anyone knows, comment since I am following this.

Imagine being on the internet without safety risks

I got this bridge for sale in Arizona. It’s a desert but it’s a great bridge.

Oh yeah and blockchain transactions aren’t public either.

Pretty sure that will be only for the paying customers lol

Elon mentioned that even though Whatsapp and Telegram don't monitor your chats directly there are hooks that check for keywords used.

IE, if you talk about Chess, you will notice Chess ads popping up in your META feed (if on Whatsapp).

Telegram has "secret chats" to avoid those hooks, but not sure how many people use Telegram with that feature.
